Jeannie Mai from 'The Real' Speaks out against Racial Tension Caused by Spread of Coronavirus

Acclaimed fashion stylist Jeannie Mai has come out to show her sadness over the racist and hostile treatment meted out on people from East Asia.

However, some people in public are reacting negatively to the disease, and rather than combatting the ailment; they opt to attack Chinese people.

According to People, Mai spoke extensively and emotionally about how she felt while citing different scenarios where Asian-Americans have been physically abused and violently handled. She said in her exclusive statement:

"After receiving numerous vulgar remarks and racist memes on my own Instagram, I realize we all need to open up the discussion of Asian American racial tension…caused by the novel Coronavirus."

The TV star decried the xenophobic attacks on Asians in America as she stated that many Asians are automatically seen as a carrier of Coronavirus. According to Oprah Mag, the reality star pointed out the drop in business for residents of Chinatown in America.

This is a result of the fact that the COVID-19 ailment has created fear in public thereby leading them to be distant. In her sensitive message, Mai implored fans to work on fighting against racism while everyone put in concerted effort to fight Coronavirus.

According to Page Six, "The Real" co-host was quite expressive on an episode of the show where she relayed an incident to her fellow hosts.

Mai revealed that a picture she took with her African-American boyfriend, Jeezy received backlashes and racial slurs as trolls doled out different insulting words related to her race and the COVID-19 virus.

On an episode of the real, Jeannie couldn't help contrasting her present relationship with her marriage to Harteis. According to her, her standard was low until she met Jeezy, who's been treating her way better.
