Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Reportedly Wish to Focus on Their Family After Official Royal Exit

Tuesday, March 31, 2020, is the official date for Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan, to step down as senior members in the British Royal Family.

The pair is now focused on their lives as independent beings. Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, recently moved to Los Angeles with the son, Archie, 10-months-old.

Besides working on a non-profit and other projects, the pair’s primary focus is said to be on being a family. A Sussex spokesperson released a statement via Buckingham Palace to explain further.

Sussexes to focus on family

According to the spokesperson: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the next few months focusing on their family.” The couple was said to be supporting “pre-existing charitable commitments while developing their future non-profit organization.”

Harry and Meghan are also going to continue supporting their existing patronages in the UK. In a final Instagram post, the couple addressed the current coronavirus pandemic that is facing the world.

Couple’s last post about COVID-19

They noted in their post that the world felt “extraordinarily fragile” at this moment. However, the pair shared, on the Monday post, that they believed we could all make a difference.

The couple wrote: “Together we can lift each other up to realise the fullness of that promise.” The Sussexes have been living in a secluded compound in Los Angeles recently.

No longer using Instagram account

They left their Vancouver Island home before the US’ border with Canada was temporarily closed to nonessential travel on March 21. The couple will no longer use Instagram under the @SussexRoyal handle.

Social account and website will remain open

They will also not be updating their website, SussexRoyal.com. According to their spokesperson both the social media account and the website would remain “in existence online for the foreseeable future.”

Where the pair are living in LA

An insider recently shared that the young family was “living in self-isolation in a $15 million gated mansion.” The source also revealed that the home was “baby-proof” because Archie has “just started walking.”

Meghan’s support system

Los Angeles happens to be Meghan’s hometown and she has a big support system there, including her mother Doria Ragland. The former “Suits” actress also has several friends who are there for her.

No longer using HRH titles

Harry and Meghan will no longer use their HRH (His and Her Royal Highness) titles from the spring. They will also “step back from royal duties, including official military appointments.”
