Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively also pledged $1 million to Food Banks Canada and Feeding America to help those who needed basic necessities for survival.

“After seeing a new report about first responders sleeping in their cars in New York to avoid putting their loved ones at risk, I wanted to do something to help,” Seacrest added.

The $750,000 allocated for frontline health workers will go to their apartment housing and food for the coming six weeks.

Seacrest’s co-host, Kelly Ripa, also took the initiative and reportedly donated $1 million together with her husband, Mark Consuelos.

The host and her family have been observing self-isolation in their home, and she continues the show through video calls with Seacrest.

In one of their episodes, Ripa revealed that she was not on speaking terms with two of her kids as they refused to hug her amid the virus outbreak.

The 49-year-old mom was a bit emotional as she shared that she herself misses her parents and longs to hug them.

Seacrest and Ripa are among the many celebrities and high-profile personalities around the globe who have donated large sums amid the global pandemic.

Donatella Versace and her daughter Allegra Versace gave 200,000 euros to support a hospital in Italy, which is currently the third country with the most number of cases.

Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively also pledged $1 million to Food Banks Canada and Feeding America to help those who needed basic necessities for survival.

Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation also donated $5 million to several organizations, while tennis star Roger Federer gave one million Swiss Francs to help families in Switzerland.
