REMEMBERING HER PAST MARRIAGES
Legendary singer Gladys Knight has been married four times. At 16, she got married to James "Jimmy" Newman in 1960 and together had two children named Kenya and James III.
In 1974, she married Barry Hankerson and had one child together. Unfortunately, her son passed away at age 36 and was survived by his wife and their five children. In 1995, she married motivational speaker Les Brown before separating in 1997.
HER HAPPY AND LASTING MARRIAGE WITH MCDOWELL
Although all of her marriages were shortlived, her fourth one with William McDowell, which happened in 2001, continues to stand the test of time. In fact, they just celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary, and are extremely happy and in love.
Just recently, she starred on the hit singing contest "The Masked Singer."
THE PERFECT COMPANION FOR GLADYS
Back in March, Gladys and William showed off their love for one another by sharing a romantic dance while at a party. Dressed in complementing blue and maroon outfits, the coupled danced the night away as other people looked in awe.
Through it all, McDowell has been the perfect companion for Knight. While they don't share any children together, McDowell treats Knights' kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids as his own, and they make the perfect blended family.
Aside from her happy personal life, Gladys, at 75-years-old, continues to work hard and keep herself busy. Just recently, she starred on the hit singing contest "The Masked Singer." While the winner ended up being T-Pain as The Monster, Gladys went home in third place as The Bee.
