Beyoncé Surprises Fans with Appearance on Disney Family Singalong
On Thursday night, Disney hosted a Family Singalong with many celebrities taking part in singing uplifting songs amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. A surprise guest star made the evening more memorable when she suddenly appeared.
Fans tuned in to Disney’s Family Singalong this week to watch some stars performing songs, dancing, and more. However, they didn’t expect to see Beyoncé Knowles-Carter during the special.
The star was not announced on the lineup ABC provided ahead of time. The “Lion King” actress thrilled her fans when she joined in virtually to sing "When You Wish Upon a Star" from “Pinocchio.”

A dedication to healthcare workers
The television special was hosted in conjunction with Feeding America. Before starting her beautiful performance, the famous musician revealed that she was dedicating her performance to some special people.
We're going to get through this
Knowles-Carter said: “I'd like to dedicate this song to all the healthcare workers who have been working tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe.” She humbly noted: “We greatly appreciate you."
Beyoncé’s message to her fans
When she was done with her rendition, the star said: "Please hold onto your families tight.” She continued noting: “Please be safe, don't give up hope,” and then adding:
“We're going to get through this, I promise. God bless you!"
High School Musical cast featured
The special aired on ABC at 8 p.m. with people like the “High School Musical” cast and was hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Journalist Austin Kellerman tweeted a clip of the singer’s performance.
Demi Lovato & Michael Bublé perform
Celebrities like Demi Lovato and Michael Bublé started the show off by singing “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes.” Christina Aguilera sang “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” while Tori Kelly followed her with “Colors of the Wind.”
Country stars featured on special
Later on, Ariana Grande performed “I Won’t Say I’m in Love.” Thomas Rhett, Darren Criss, John Stamos, and Amber Riley all had a chance to perform.
The reason behind the special
ABC took out a press release about the Disney Family Singalong ahead of its premiere. The network said the special was one of many ways that The Walt Disney Company is trying to bring the magic of Disney into people’s homes right now.
Beyoncé’s Disney Role
Knowles-Carter voiced the character of Disney’s Nala in the live-action remake of “The Lion King.” The film was released last summer to much acclaim from the movie industry.
