Linda Purl's Son Lucius Is All Grown-Up and Inherited His Mom's Charming Smile

Delectable actress Linda Purl has enjoyed a film and television career spanning several years. The veteran actress may not have gotten it right in her four failed marriages, but she made sure she got things right with her only son, Lucius, even giving him her beautiful smile. Here is more on their cozy mother-son relationship.

Linda Purl is an American actress and singer who was born on September 2, 1955. The 54-year-old actress was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, into a Jewish theatrical family. Her mother, Marshelline "Marshie" (Patton), was a Broadway actress, and her father, Raymond Charles Arthur Purl, was an actor.

Linda spent her childhood in Japan, where she became the only foreigner to train at the Toho Geino Academy. She also went to England to study under Marguerite Beale and returned to the United States at the age of 15, where she attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

After her first marriage failed, the soft-spoken actress got married to screenwriter William Broyles Jr. They were together from 1988 to 1992.

The iconic actress has built an impressive profile in the entertainment industry, featuring in several television and film productions. Still, what she is most proud of is her son — Lucius Cary.

MEET LUCIUS CARY

Lucius Cary is the only child of Linda Purl, and she had him with her third husband, Alexander Cary, who she got married to in 1993. Linda Purl's spouse Alexander Cary was born on February 1, 1963, in London, England, as Lucius Alexander Plantagenet Cary.

He is a renowned producer and prolific writer best known for "Lie to Me" (2009), "Homeland" (2011), and "Taken" (2017). Linda and Alexander Cary got divorced in 1999 barely six years after their wedding, but welcomed their son, Lucius, on February 6, 1995, in Los Angeles.

Ever since his birth, the famous actress has been glued to his side and never passes up an opportunity to show off her lovely son. The talented actress's social media pages are well-documented with special memories of her and her son.

Earlier in February, Lucius celebrated his 25th birthday, and as expected, his mom was right by his side to make it a memorable day. While wishing her son a happy birthday, the doting mom shared a picture of her and her son alongside a special birthday message. She wrote in the caption:

"25 years ago today, 14 hours of labor were worth every second for this beautiful boy! So grateful to be his Mom."

Apart from being the only son of famous parents, Lucius Cary is a professional soccer player. The talented midfielder is blessed with quick feet, and an excellent passing range, which allows him to pick out those killer passes in games.

The former Drogheda United player has steadily built his profile within the United States as a promising talent, and he is eligible to represent either the UK or America in future competitions. Through the years, his mom has been his biggest fan and continues to cheer him on game days.

Linda and her son, Lucius, are inseparable, and it's clear for everyone to see that the young footballer enjoys the company and attention of his mother.

LINDA PURL'S FAILED MARRIAGES AND CAREER

After his divorce from Linda Purl, renowned writer and ex-soldier Alexander Cary got married to American actress Jennifer Marsala, a cast member in "Homeland." The marriage took place in Somerset on December 21, 2013.

Meanwhile, Linda remarried for the fourth time to James Vinson Adams from 2006 to 2011.

Linda Purl's first marriage was in 1980 to Desi Arnaz, Jr., who is the son of Lucy Ball and Desi Arnaz. The wedding was short-lived and ended barely a year after, in 1981. Speaking about the marriage and why it failed, Linda revealed:

"We were still sort of giddy with being in love with each other, and we just found that we couldn't work out the more practical side of living."

After her first marriage failed, the soft-spoken actress got married to screenwriter William Broyles Jr. They were together from 1988 to 1992.

Linda remains one of the most popular 80s actresses. She is famous for her roles as Sheila Munroe in the 1982 horror film "Visiting Hours," Pam Beesley's mother Helene in "The Office," and Ben Matlock's daughter Charlene Matlock for the massively successful first season of the television show "Matlock."

On "Happy Days," she portrayed two different characters. First, as Richie's occasional girlfriend, Gloria, in season two of the show and then eight seasons later, she returns playing Fonzie's steady girlfriend, Ashley.
