Carly Brownlee Is Sophia Grace's Supportive Mother Who Was the First to Know About Her Pregnancy

Sophia Grace Brownlee became a household name after she and her cousin became internet sensations in 2011. Not only did her mother, Carly Brownlee, support her rise to fame, but she also helped her scared daughter break the news of her pregnancy to her father.

Sophia Grace Brownlee was one half of an adorable performing duo, alongside her younger cousin, Rosie McClelland, who shot to fame for their cover of Nicki Minaj's "Super Base." They soon became social media darlings.

Carly watched as her daughter went on to interview Katy Perry and Rihanna and sing on the red carpet with Maroon 5.

Belle has almost 40,000 followers on Instagram at the time of this publication. In 2018, she had a great time on holiday and posed for an adorable snap with her sister in Greece.

The following year, Carly took to Instagram to share a photo of her family — including Sophia, who had over a million followers on her Instagram account at the time of publication — and revealed they were her "world."

In 2022, Carly's daughter broke the news that she was expecting her first child at 19 and admitted that the news shocked the public and her mother. However, after having an "Oh, wow" reaction, Carly was soon excited for her daughter. Sophia said:

"The first person that actually knew was my mom. My mom's reaction obviously, at the start, she was a little bit like, 'Oh wow.' But she just got used to it straight away, and she was always really happy and excited about it."

On the other hand, telling her father was a different story, and Carly broke the news to Dominic as their eldest daughter "couldn't face" him. However, despite their daughter's reservations about his reaction, Carly's husband was delighted by the news.

It only took hours for the clip of the girls in their signature tiaras and tutus to go viral on YouTube, and soon Ellen DeGeneres was calling to have them on her show. Carly watched as her daughter went on to interview Katy Perry and Rihanna and sing on the red carpet with Maroon 5.

However, her husband revealed they kept a close eye on their daughter — now the Creative Director of a fashion brand — and ensured it was always what she wanted. "All along, we said if we see that look in her face where she's not happy, it's over. We will just pull out," Carly's husband said.
