Ellen Degeneres Shares Throwback Wedding Photo to Celebrate Same-Sex Marriage Legalization
Ellen DeGeneres reminisced about her wedding with her wife to honor a significant date. The couple, who had been married for 15 years, recently renewed their vows.
On Monday, Ellen DeGeneres, 65, shared an intimate black-and-white snapshot with her wife, Portia de Rossi, 50, to mark a momentous day in history.
The sweet photo, capturing their beaming smiles and ethereal white ensembles from their wedding day, was DeGeneres' touching tribute to the eighth anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark ruling for same-sex marriage in the U.S.

"8 years ago today marks an important moment. It's when the Supreme Court said 'yes' to letting everyone feel the same joy I got to feel in this moment," she penned alongside the snap.
In June 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 5-4 in Obergefell v. Hodges in favor of same-sex marriage legalization in the country.
The couple tied the knot in 2008, following the Supreme Court of California's affirmation of marriage rights for gay couples. Motivational speaker Wayne Dyer officiated their wedding. De Rossi added "DeGeneres" to her name a few years later.
In her 50th birthday celebration in February, de Rossi donned a stunning wedding dress and held a bouquet of white roses as she surprised the "Finding Dory" star with a vow renewal ceremony with Kris Jenner as the officiant.
Opening up about their enduring bond, de Rossi gushed, "We've grown together as a couple, and we really consider each other and put our relationship first. By doing that, you become a lot more solid. I can't imagine spending time with anyone but her."
