James Corden Takes Break from ’The Late Late Show’ after Undergoing Surgery
On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, television show host James Corden gave an update on his health. “The Late Late Show with James Corden” star had to undergo surgery recently.
Corden, 41, recently went under the knife to remedy an issue with his eye. This week, the star reached out to his fans via Twitter and Instagram to give an update on his health.
In his post, he explained that he’d only had minor surgery on Tuesday, and revealed that he was “doing well and recovering.” Even though it wasn’t a big procedure, the host shared that he wouldn’t be working for a bit.

TAKING TIME OFF WORK
He wrote: “[I] won’t be able to film new episodes for a few nights.” Corden thanked his fans for continuing to watch “The Late Late Show” which was taped from his garage since April 13, 2020, because of the social distancing mandate.
I've found it tougher than I ever thought I would
The British star hadn’t been going in to work to help curb the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The television personality promised to “be back soon” and urged people to “Stay safe and well.”
CORDEN’S HOME FESTIVAL
Corden’s garage-based show has documented his primetime special “Homefest.” The special was aired by CBS on March 30, 2020, and it featured remote performances from different artists.
Dua Lipa has starred on the show all the way from London while BTS appeared quarantined together in South Korea. Legendary musician Andrea Bocelli also appeared from his house in Italy.
HIS EMOTIONS AMID COVID-19
During the special, the “Gavin & Stacey” star opened up about how he felt regarding the ongoing outbreak. He candidly shared: "I've found it tougher than I ever thought I would.”
FEELING OUT OF CONTROL
Corden confessed to having “incredible spikes of anxiety and sadness” when he thought about his family in England, his friends, or the people he loved. He shared that he actually felt “out of control.”
ACCEPTING HIS EMOTIONS
The star also admitted that he felt “overwhelmed with the sadness, really." Despite his feelings, the host revealed that he’d learned it was "OK to feel anxious.”
BEING AT HOME WITH FAMILY
He explained how he was coping by breathing through his fears and focusing on positivity. Corden is self-isolating at home with his wife Julia and their three children: son Max, 9, and daughters Carey, 5, and Charlotte, 2.
