Andrew Cuomo's Mom Matilda Makes Rare TV-Appearance with Him on Mother's Day
Governor Andrew Cuomo couldn't physically spend time with his mom on Mother's Day, but he used the next best thing to make sure she felt appreciated and to share his love for her.
On Sunday, Governor Andrew Cuomo smiled broadly as he welcomed his mom, Matilda Cuomo, via video conference during his novel coronavirus briefing.
Before the former first lady of New York joined in, Andrew told viewers that Mother's Day is about expressing love and appreciation to all mothers.

ANDREW'S MESSAGE TO HIS MOM
Even though he couldn't spend the day with her amid social-distancing regulations, Andrew still found a way to make the day special for his mom, who is "stronger and smarter" than him. After Matilda joined in, Andrew said:
"Happy Mother's Day to you mom. I miss you. I love you so, so much. I wish I could be with you, but I can't be. But I can't be, because I love you."
Andrew's daughters, Mariah and Michaela, also popped up via video link to wish their grandmother a happy day, and Mariah thanked Matilda for teaching them "the meaning of family."
ANDREW'S TRIBUTES ON SOCIAL MEDIA
However, the 62-year-old governor also took to social media to pay further tribute to his mom. Alongside a happy picture taken with Matilda and his brother Chris Cuomo, Andrew joked that he loves the photo taken with her "favorite son" Chris.
On Twitter, Andrew's Mother's Day post focused on appreciation to all the moms out there, especially during this challenging time of isolation and wrote:
"And to all moms: Whether separated by distance or staying home together, we love and appreciate you."
Andrew and his brother, the CNN host Chris Cuomo, had been doing several interviews with each other over the last two months, and it gave viewers an inside look at their humorous sibling rivalry and Chris's battle with COVID-19.
QUALITY CUOMO BONDING TIME
Chris recently recovered from the disease and found himself joining the TikTok craze with his daughter Bella. Showing off his playful side, Chris shook his bonbon to a mash-up of Kesha's "Cannibal," "Savage" by Megan Thee Stallion, and Rihanna's song "What's My Name."
Humorously dancing in front of his 17-year-old daughter, Chris had his back to the camera while Bella managed to stick to her dance moves while laughing in the background.
IT RAN THROUGH THE FAMILY
Chris and his wife Cristina share three children, as they are also parents to Carolina and Mario. However, despite Chris's best efforts, the novel coronavirus soon popped up among them as well.
While still on the mend, Cristina Cuomo shared that she had contracted the virus, and ten days later, she shared that their son Mario also became infected.
Thankfully, Cristina recently shared that Mario had also recovered from the novel coronavirus, with only their two daughters Carolina and Bella, who managed to avoid getting sick.
