Actress Kim Fields of "Facts of Life" fame turned 51 on May 12 and celebrated the special day by posting some adorable pictures of herself and her mother, Chip Fields.
Kim Fields had more than her birthday to celebrate on May 12, with the actress posting cute pictures of herself and her mother, Chip Fields, and announcing that the latter would be joining Instagram on the day. In one of the post, Kim wrote:
"IT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN! Sound the alarm!!!!! Shout it from the rooftops!! Mom is making her IG debut in 30 minutes to kickoff my birthday celebration!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!"
"MOM IS COMING TO THE GRAM making her IG debut!!! Celebrating the gift of life, grateful for another dance around the sun AND the genesis of it all, leading the celebration vibes tomorrow..."
Kim's mother is also a famous actress, known for her roles in many popular films, television shows, and Broadway theatre. Her most famous role came when she starred in a four-part series of the 1970s sitcom, "Good Times."
In 2017, and two days after her 48th birthday, Kim Fields once again sang her mother's praises and shared some old pictures of them on Instagram, showing their striking resemblance.
Kim said that her unexpected baby, who came when she was 45, was a surprise, but a happy one.
Kim Fields became a child star after auditioning and getting the role of Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey on the "Facts of Life," a role she almost walked out on. In a chat with "Fox News," the actress said that she almost didn't stay for the audition because she was a little black girl that walked into a sea of television-ready white girls, which made her feel that she wasn't supposed to be there.
However, her mother took her to the bathroom to tell her not to let anyone nor anything intimidate her; those words filled her with courage.
Kim Fields also spoke on how she was able to overcome scrutiny while growing up as a child star, facing media attention over the changes she was having with her body, among other things. The actress is married to Christopher Morgan, and the couple have two sons, Sebastian Alexander Morgan, 13, and Quincy Xavier Morgan, 6.
Quincy was born in 2013, amid miraculous circumstances, weighing 8 lbs., 8 oz. The actress and her husband were grateful to God for their newborn son. They had previously spoken about how difficult it was for them to conceive.
Kim said that her unexpected baby, who came when she was 45, was a surprise, but a happy one, coming after she had experienced two miscarriages. She also shared the first pictures of the adorable baby.
