TMZ: Mary-Kate Olsen Files for Emergency Divorce with Olivier Sarkozy Amid COVID-19 Crisis
Mary-Kate Olsen has requested an emergency order to file for divorce from husband, Pierre Olivier Sarkozy amid the COVID-19 crisis. The duo was married for more than 4 years and together 8 years.
Fashion designer and household name Mary-Kate Olsen is filing for an emergency divorce from her husband, Pierre Olivier Sarkozy. According to TMZ, Mary-Kate stated that her legal counsels received an email from Pierre's attorneys, asking her to get her belongings out of their New York City apartment on or before May 18.

While noting that she asked her husband to give her until the end of the month to do the needful, the fashion designer claimed that Pierre is doing his best to force her out as he ended their lease without informing her.
Mary-Kate and her French banker beau, who is the half brother of former French president Nicholas Sarkozy, began dating in 2012. The couple became engaged two years later.

People noted that in court documents obtained by TMZ, the former actress stated that she cannot meet her husband's May 18 deadline due to the quarantine guidelines within the city. Mary-Kate also added that the only way to protect her property would be if she filed a divorce petition.
The petition would prompt an automatic court order that would stop Pierre from getting rid of her property. She also requested in the divorce petition that their prenuptial agreement be put into action.

Amid the divorce and legal battles between the duo, a source told ET Online that the breakup was a "brutal" one as things weren't always so bad between the two.
A second source informed the news outlet that even though the public thought Pierre and Mary-Kate weren't a good fit, the reality was different. The source made it clear to ET Online that:
"He was always doting on her and making her happy. And she loved being around him."

It would be recalled that Mary-Kate and her French banker beau, who is the half brother of former French president Nicholas Sarkozy, began dating in 2012. The couple became engaged two years later and walked down the aisle in November 2015.
Things seemed to be okay with the couple and it seemed as though Mary-Kate had settled into married life for good. She only opened up about balancing her professional and family sides in a 2017 interview when she said:
"I have a husband, two stepkids, and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner. I ride horses on the weekends."
Fans are waiting to see how things would play out between the couple.
