Jaleel White Shares His Memories of Summer Basketball Camps in a Throwback Photo
Jaleel White recently took his fans down memory lane when he shared retro photos from the time he spent at summer basketball camps.
The talented actor, who is best known for his role as " Steve Urkel" on the sitcom "Family Matters," shared a collage of pictures that saw him as a teenager having a splendid time at the basketball camp.

In one, he was captured giving out autographs while in another, he could be seen shirtless with a joyful smile on his face. Jaleel's caption was a lengthy one; it began:
"If I live long enough to experience a better decade than the 90s, God will have truly blessed me beyond measure."
He went on to reveal the year, which was 1993, a time he had still been engaged with filming "Family Matters." Jaleel stated that his mom often sent him to basketball camps all over the country, every summer.
The 43-year-old actor remembered how it felt seeing a camper realize Steve Urkel from "Family Matters" was his roommate for the week. Jaleel joked about how he signed almost as many autographs as Michael Jordan himself.
Fans will forever link him to his role as Steve Urkel, the clumsy, nerdy neighbor from the "Family Matters."
He also revealed that MJ used to play pickup games with the camp counselors after the campers were sent to bed and that he had witnessed one such game.
As the caption tapered to an end, Jaleel thanked @unique_threads, where he got the pictures and dropped a quote by famous rapper Drake. It read,
"I been Urkel for some years / it's better being Jaleel."
Jaleel remains one of those actors who will always be linked to their most famous character. In his case, fans will forever link him to his role as Steve Urkel, the clumsy, nerdy neighbor from the "Family Matters."
Speaking on how he feels about Steve Urkel, Jaleel revealed to Fox News that he still loved the character.
When asked if he would be willing to go for a reboot of the ABC sitcom, the actor stated that there was no need for one as the sitcom belongs in an era without cellphones.
However, Jaleel did "reboot" Steve Urkel. He brought the character back last year when he voiced him for an episode of "Scooby-Doo" and "Guess Who."
Since "Family Matters" ended in 1998, Jaleel has featured in several other movies including, "Big Fat Liar," Judy Moody," and the "Not Bummer Summer."
Aside from being an accomplished actor, Jaleel is also a proud father. His daughter, Samaya, was born in 2009, and Jaleel's love for her is well known — she is often referred to as his mini-me because of their close resemblance.
His Instagram page is reportedly littered with a lot of photos documenting father-daughter moments the two have shared. Samaya is the product of Jaleel's relationship with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Hardy.
