Eric Benét Claps Back at Trolls Who Said He Has Aged Dramatically

The 53-year-old isn't letting the naysayers bring him down, and he has been vocal about it. Eric got lots of love from fans online after teaming up with another talented musician, Tamia, on a live IG video to bless their fans with their 1999 duet "Spend My Life With You."

Most of them applauded the effortless performance of the duo, but some fans had their eyes on the physical appearance of the 53-year-old performer. Eric quickly responded to his critics. He tweeted:

" I'm like 30 years happened... Lemme see what yo' soda-drinking [expletive] look like at 53yrs old!"

Many fans threw in their support via the comment section. One fan quipped that the singer looked "handsome" at his age. Another Twitter user commented that he could relate as he is of the same age as Eric.

After a few years, the singer married Manuela Testolini, and the couple share two kids.

Some group of fans acknowledged that the entertainer looked older, which wasn't a surprise. Usually, female celebrities are the ones who get bashed for looking older as they age; Eric's outcry proved that the men in the entertainment industry are also subjected to the same type of criticism.

Eric loves to set the record straight as much as he loves to tackle his critics. After his divorce with movie star Halle Berry, he got candid about his marital struggles.

The popular singer admitted that their mariage was rocked by infidelities. He went on with a sex therapy but sadly couldn't save the union.

According to him, the 35-day sex-addict rehab program he checked into was not because he was addicted to sex, but because of Halle's mother's advise.

He explained that the divorce was traumatic, but with the help of God, and his relatives, he was able to pull through.

After a few years, the singer married Manuela Testolini, and the couple share two kids. In all, Eric is a father of three, including a daughter named India from a previous relationship.
