'When Calls the Heart' Star Daniel Lissing Puts Wedding on Hold Amid COVID-19 Crisis
Daniel Lissing has to take a raincheck on his wedding plans with fiancée Nadia. The decision was an easy one for the actor who is looking out for friends and family.
Getting married is not a top priority for actor Daniel Lissing amid the coronavirus pandemic. While it could be done alone or with very few guests, the actor revealed that he'd rather delay the whole thing.
Lissing, best known for his former role on "When Calls the Heart," spoke to ET regarding the postponement of his wedding to fiancée Nadia. Ultimately, the decision was made with a safety-first mindset.
LISSING AND HIS FIANCE ALL ABOUT SAFETY
"We postponed, we've got everything on hold," noted the actor, who is currently staying in Los Angeles while COVID-19 plagues the world. He's hoping to get a better idea of the situation with the virus by next winter.
In the meantime, Lissing's Bali wedding, which was expected to happen this summer, is out of the question. He said, "We don't want to risk the health and safety of our friends and family."
The 38-year-old is not stressing too much and has a philosophical outlook on things he can't control. Meanwhile, he's already planned a new date for the wedding.
The couple still intends to hold the event in Bali. They're looking at a particular date in May or June next year. When asked why Lissing teased that it might be the day the pair first met.
LISSING PROVES HE'S NOT MARRIED
Elsewhere, Nadia's Instagram followers reportedly saw as she changed her last name on the platform, prompting them to believe that perhaps she and Lissing tied the knot in secret.
To prove that wasn't the case, the ET host asked the "Rookie" actor to put up both hands and show he didn't have a wedding band on. He didn't. Besides, Lissing and Nadia are already spending all their time together.
The pair are living together during the quarantine, so they now have even more time to learn about each other before the wedding. Lissing said they're enjoying it very much and rarely get angry with each other.
REVEALING THEIR WEDDING PLANS
Back in February, Lissing and Nadia dished on how they were hoping to enjoy Bali food at their destination wedding this year. The guest count was about 80, and the menu would have included a chocolate cake dessert.
Lissing, a longtime musician, even had plans to perform at the event himself. Additionally, there'd be some Australian musicians for entertainment. To be sure, his former "When Calls the Heart" co-stars were invited.
LISSING LEAVES THE HALLMARK SHOW
The handsome brunette once played Jack Thornton on Hallmark's hit drama series. He left in 2018 during the season five finale — he was killed off in the show.
Fans were heartbroken and wanted to know why Lissing really left. Actress Lori Loughlin, who was still on the cast at the time, explained that he chose to move on to other things after his contract expired.

In November 2018, Lissing revealed what he most misses about the show. "I miss the work on set with some of my favorite people in the world," he told ET, all while encouraging fans to continue watching.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH THE SERIES
It appears they did. "When Calls the Heart" was recently renewed for its eighth season, as revealed by Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thornton on the show.
In the series, Elizabeth is caught between two men, so fans are looking forward to seeing who she'll choose. They'll also learn what happens after Lee's unexpected health issue and Faith's outcome after leaving town. There's a lot to wrap up next season.
