Meet 'When Calls the Heart' Star Daniel Lissing's Fiancée Nadia – inside Their Love Life

Daniel Lissing, star of the hit drama series "When Calls the Heart" is engaged to a mystery girl.

Heartthrob Daniel Lissing, who played the ill-fated Jack Thornton in the hit drama series "When Calls the Heart," announced his engagement in October 2019 to a mysterious young woman he introduced to the world only as Nadia.

Nadia, who keeps her surname a secret to protect her family, met Daniel in the most romantic setting imaginable: the island of fire and ice, Iceland.

Nadia revealed that the last year had been a hard one for Daniel, who left "Calls The Heart" at the end of Season 5

MEETING DANIEL LISSING

Nadia revealed that she was on a trip to Reykjavik in 2018, to commemorate her graduating with a master's degree in business when she met a was approached by a handsome young stranger. She said:

"A very happy, slightly intoxicated Australian approached me in a bar. My first impression was, 'This guy is hot but he might be a little crazy,'"

Their connection was immediate, she confesses, and she agreed to see him again, and again, and again...

Nadia had no idea that Daniel was an actor, let alone that he was a famous one until the fourth or fifth date. Nadia confessed:

"I'm his biggest fan now though... And he's mine."

AGREE TO DISAGREE

Although the couple have a lot in common there are a few things they agree to disagree on, and one of them is food. While Nadia is happy eating pasta every day of the week, while Daniel is more of a foodie. Nadia also revealed that she is a huge fan of horror flicks, which Daniel just hates.

A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

Daniel popped the question on Nadia's birthday, a special gift she will never forget. The actor revealed that he kept it simple:

"I asked her at our home. On her birthday. I just spoke from my heart."

He also presented her with a gorgeous engagement ring -- a stunning square-cut ice-clear solitaire set on a band of pavê diamonds by Tiffany & Co., which Nadia shared on her Instagram.

WEDDING PLANS

The couple was planning a beach wedding for this summer, but due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have put the date on hold, but not the plan for spending the rest of their lives together.

Daniel's sister Tamara is the assigned wedding planner, and Nadia has revealed that she has the perfect dress in mind, for when they finally set the date.

Nadia revealed that 2019 had been a hard one for Daniel, who left "Calls The Heart" at the end of Season 5 prompted by personal reasons.

The shooting of the emotional final episodes was particularly hard for Daniel since it was filmed days after a devastating personal loss -- the death of his beloved grandfather.
