Gabourey Sidibe of 'Empire' Shows Her Glow up with Comparison Photo in African Inspired Dresses

Gabourey Sidibe sure has love for African print, and recently, she shared an image of herself looking glowed up in a sultry makeup, right next to a throwback picture of herself. Both photos showed the "Empire" actress rocking African printed outfits.

Sidibe is staying connected with her fans as usual, and her current post was a beautiful comparison snap. A younger Sidibe dressed in a colorful African print dress appeared on the left with a natural look and bub hair.

On the right was a present glammed up look, with hair neatly curled and away from her face. Without hesitation, the "Precious" star gushed on herself by writing:

"A GLOW UP."

Fans threw in their support on the look with complimentary emojis, and some wrote how stunning she'd always looked even as a younger lady. The onscreen diva is always expressive when it comes to her looks. She's granted interviews and has authored a memoir titled "This Is Just My Face," to talk about her weight struggles.

One significant change that didn't seem annoying was finding her Mr. Right.

In 2017, after she underwent weight-loss surgery, the then 33-year-old explained that she consistently dealt with bullying due to her weight. When she was diagnosed with diabetes, she decided that it was time to deal with her health, which involved weight loss. The "Empire" star first tried to shed some weight using exercise, she said:

"It took a long time time to do the surgery because I really was trying to lose weight...So I'm glad that I finally realized that the surgery wasn't the easy way out...I wasn't cheating..."

Reportedly, Sidibe's weight loss marked a new beginning of healthy habits and congratulatory remarks. As for the comments, she shared how unwelcoming she views them. According to her, complimenting her decision to shed weight appears "annoying."

Her brand and marketing boyfriend enjoys showing off their relationship on social media. He speaks passionately about his lover and sings her praises at every opportunity, while Sidibe regularly responds to these gestures.
