Wayne Gretzky Has 5 Children, Some of Whom Are Also Athletes
Wayne Gretzky has 5 children: Paulina, Emma, Trevor, Ty, and Tristan. Some of the former athlete's children have also ventured into sports, like their famous father.
One thing more important than professional hockey to Wayne Gretzky is his children. The former National Hockey League (NHL) player has five children he welcomed with his wife of over 30 years: Paulina, Emma, Trevor, Ty, and Tristan. Here's a closer look at each of Wayne Gretzy's children.
Paulina Gretzky
Wayne welcomed his daughter, Paulina Gretzky, on December 19, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, five months and two days after her parents wed, to be exact. She's the eldest child of the former athlete and actress Janet Jones.
Paulina followed in her mother's career footsteps by becoming an actress, too. Some of Paulina's projects include a small role in 2005's "Alpha Dog," 2009's "Fame," 2012's "Guns, Girls and Gambling," and 2013's "Grown Ups 2."
Paulina also worked as a model, and when her family lived in New York City, she was accepted into the American School of Ballet. She has an Instagram account with 52 posts and one million followers while following 234 people. Her posts include images of her in a bikini, with her husband, and her family.
Wayne's eldest daughter started dating professional golfer Dustin Johnson in 2011, and they got engaged in August 2013. The couple have two sons. Paulina's IMDb account said she welcomed their first child, Tatum Gretzky Johnson, on January 19, 2015. Their second child and son, River Jones Johnson, was born on June 12, 2017.
According to Dustin's website, he is the 2020 Masters Tournament Champion, has won several PGA Tours, and is the 2016 US Open Champion.
Emma Gretzky
Paulina's younger sister, Emma Gretzky, was also born in Los Angeles on March 28, 2003. Like her older sibling and mother, Emma ventured into acting, but her only acting credit is 2013's "Palo Alto." She has an active Instagram account, where she posts about her life and family.
In 2022, her father paid tribute to her on her birthday by uploading a picture of them together on X (formerly Twitter), and wrote:
"Happy birthday to our baby Emma. We are so proud of you!"
Following two daughters, Wayne welcomed a son who is also now an adult like his other siblings. He followed in his father's footsteps by becoming an athlete. However, he's also dabbled in his mother's art form.
Trevor Gretzky
On September 14, 1992, Wayne welcomed his son, Trevor Gretzky, in Los Angeles. Like his older sibling, he developed an interest in acting and got behind the camera as a producer. Some of the work he's known for is 2018's "Mile 22" and 2021's "Spiral" and "Apex."
While at Oaks Christian High School, he played for the school's football team, and at one point, he was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In May 2016, the Burlington Bees released him.
Trevor has an Instagram account with 513 posts and 24K followers, following 888 people. His posts mainly feature his private and professional life.

Ty Gretzky
After welcoming his first son, Wayne appeared to have activated the fountain that produced baby boys when he welcomed another son, Ty Gretzky. Ty is also into sports like his father.
In 2014, Ty joined his family in founding The Gretzky Hockey School. The institution began with a week in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Now, they've reached different cities throughout North America and continue to grow.
The school is a venue for aspiring hockey players to learn the sport well with skill-building sessions, on and off-ice drills, and classroom discussions. According to its website, it promises to give students a "comprehensive education in all aspects of the game."

Wayne's son believed the coaching staff and the other players were the best in the country, and he looked forward to spending the next few years working with them.

Tristan Gretzky
In 2018, Pepperdine University revealed on its website that it had signed three professional golfers from Southern California, and one of them was Wayne's youngest son, Tristan Gretzky. The university shared how Tristan had two top-10 showings at 2016's Toyota Tour Cup and other achievements.
That same year, as a freshman, Tristan was voted Daily News Newcomer of the Year. Michael Beard, the men's golf head coach, only had positive things to say about Wayne's son when he announced his National Letter of Intent signees, saying:
"Tristan has impressed us with his athleticism and attitude."

Michael described Tristan as a late bloomer with a "great upside." The head coach believed the young man was a great addition to their program and the university.
Tristan revealed that his goal in life is to be on the PGA Tour and Pepperdine University was the perfect college to give him a chance to realize his dreams. Wayne's son believed the coaching staff and the other players were the best in the country, and he looked forward to spending the next few years working with them.
Not much is known about Tristan, unlike Ty, but he also has an Instagram account like his other siblings. However, his social media account is private, and only his profile picture and biography are visible to outsiders. According to the page, Tristan is studying at New York University. He has 12 posts and 18.7K followers while following 1,382 pages.
