OFF TO COLLEGE

Xen drove his mother to tears a few months back when he revealed to her that he got accepted into his top choice for college. It was a dream he harbored since he was eight, and the thought that his dream is now a reality made Tisha cry happy tears.

Tisha told the ladies of “The Real” in March that Xen was especially grateful to her for teaching him to become less entitled and to survive on his own.

Tisha revealed at the time that Xen didn’t ask for her help nor did he need anyone to assist him when he applied for college.

She also shared that he had been on the dean’s list while managing two jobs. She was proud of how independent he had become.

HIS INDEPENDENT UPBRINGING

Xen, who's father is Tisha's ex-husband, Duane Martin, wants to be an animal conservationist. His mother is confident he will be one.

He grew up learning to do things for himself under Tisha’s care and she’s certain he’ll achieve whatever he desires because he’s well-equipped.

This brought a fresh round of tears to her eyes thinking how much her son has achieved in spite of the odds against him.

Xen has a younger brother, Zeke, 10, who looks up to him and is also proud to be his mother’s son. “Mom, you are my safe place,” is what Zeke told her once, Tisha recalled on “The Real.”

FINDING LOST DREAMS

Nothing could make a mother’s heart melt more than hearing your children acknowledge how much you do for them. Tisha couldn’t be happier with how her children appreciate her.

Many years ago, when Xen was first diagnosed with autism, Tisha cried for three days, regretting her dreams and aspirations for her son which she thought she had lost.

However, this isn’t the case today. Xen’s dreams are well on their way to fruition, and he has both his mother and most especially himself to thank.
