Hank Williams Jr's Son Sam Shares Touching Tribute to Late Sister Katherine Williams-Dunning

Hank Williams, Jr.'s son, Sam Williams, has shared some memories of his sister, Katherine "Katie" Williams-Dunning, days after she passed away in a car accident.

27-year-old Katherine Williams-Dunning died on June 13 after the 2007 Chevy Tahoe she was using to tow a boat crashed. While she passed away on the spot, her husband, Tyler Dunning, who was in the passenger seat, was airlifted to a hospital.

Days after the fatal incident, Taste of Country has reported that Katherine’s brother, Sam Williams, broke his social media silence when he uploaded a picture of him, Katherine, and her two children via his Instagram.

Wesley Moster, told CNN that Katherine’s SUV crossed the highway’s dividing median and started a “rollover sequence.”

He followed the post up with another image of just Katherine before he provided an update about her celebration of life. Through the caption, “The Lost Grandchild’s Plea” crooner explained that:

“I’m not sure about the rest of our lives without her, but I know she would want to bring the community together and there to be joy alongside the pain.”

Before Sam’s post, People reported that Holly Audrey Williams - the pair’s sister - paid a tribute to Katherine with a sweet family portrait and a lengthy caption that she ended by asking for prayers from fans and followers.

Today noted that the image, which was taken at their grand aunt’s funeral, showed Katherine holding her 2-year-old daughter's hand as her 5-year-old son smiled next to her and her father, Hank Williams Jr., stood to her left.

Within hours uploading the tribute, several celebrities, including Reese Witherspoon, Martina McBride, and Lily Aldrige, took to the comment section to sympathize with the 39-year-old. Singer Hilary Williams wasn't left out as she also shared her tribute via her Instagram Story, which she captioned:

“My beautiful little sister Katie. I'll always love and miss you. I'll see you again one day beyond the blue.”

As regards the incident that claimed Katherine’s life, a spokesman for Tennessee's Department of Safety & Homeland Security, Wesley Moster, told CNN that Katherine’s SUV crossed the highway’s dividing median and started a “rollover sequence.”

The vehicle, which was headed south, crossed over to the northbound lanes and finally stopped at the east shoulder of the road.

Katherine, who was Hank's youngest child with his third wife, Mary-Jane, owned an online fashion shop known as Weston Jane.
