Bindi Irwin Shares Throwback Photo with Late Steve Irwin in Honor of Father's Day
Bindi Irwin took to social media a tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, during Father’s Day: “You will always be my superhero.”
A big part of who Bindi Irwin is today came from her father -- a brave, family-oriented, wildlife conservationist.
CELEBRATING FATHER’S DAY
Over the weekend, Irwin posted a throwback photo, where she sat on her father’s lap as he smiled at the camera.

“You will always be my superhero,” she captioned the post. The Crocodile Hunter passed away in 2006, making this year the 14th Father’s Day his family celebrated without him.
Previously, during Father’s Day in Australia, Irwin shared a heartwarming video compilation where she, as a baby, enjoyed special moments with her parents.
Their wedding ceremony took place while the zoo was closed due to the pandemic, but recently, the newlywed couple announced its reopening.
The post came with a reminder to “hug the people in your life who bring light to your heart and always remember that love lasts forever,” as she commemorated her father’s life.
A SPECIAL TRIBUTE IRWIN
The 21-year-old recently tied the knot with Chandler Powell in Australia Zoo, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In an interview, Irwin revealed why she chose to keep her last name in remembrance of her late father. She said:
“I think that for me personally, after dad passed away, it was really important for me to feel close to him, and having his last name means so much to me.”

Irwin thanked her family for the support they have given her and the zoo as they resume operations. Powell made the announcement on Instagram, alongside a photo with his “gorgeous wife.”
Australia Zoo is home to Irwin and the place where Steve raised his family. The place grew uniquely special for Steve’s daughter after she was married there.
