Miles Davis' Son Erin Is a Proud Husband & Father Now — Meet the Jazz Legend's Grandkids

Miles Davis was an iconic musician and a major force of Jazz music in the world; he played a major role in the rise of the musical genre. One of the musician's children, Erin Davis, who has kept his father's legacy alive, is a father of two cute girls.

Miles Davis lived a great musical life and is remembered fondly by fans as a major force in the world of Jazz music, both as a trumpeter and a bandleader. The Grammy Award winner died on September 28, 1991, due to pneumonia and respiratory failure.

Since the icon's death, his surviving heirs have continued to keep his work alive. This has been championed by Miles' youngest son, Erin, his nephew, Vince Wilburn, and his daughter, Cheryl, who are partners in the Miles Davis Estate.

It was this trio who came together to ensure the filming of "Miles Ahead," a long-awaited movie about the life and times of Miles Davis. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Miles' best-known record, "King of Blue," a documentary titled "Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool" was released.

In an interview to describe the impact his father had on the music world, Erin told "N'Digo" that his late father was an extraordinary individual and a genius. Asked about the documentary, he replied:

"I've been waiting to do one for a long time, and we had been talking to Stanley Nelson (the director) off and on for 10 years. Finally, all the stars aligned, and we were able to move forward."

Erin and his cousin, Vince Wilburn, also spoke to "uDiscover Music" in an exclusive interview about Miles Davis' impact on music. They said the late crooner heard music differently, thought ahead of the game, and never rested on his laurels.

Today, apart from continuing the legacy of his father, Erin Davis is also a family man. He is a proud father of two beautiful daughters and a loving husband to his wife, Kim Hoffman Davis.

The relationship between Miles and Marguerite was not so great, with the latter suing the Jazz star for neglecting her and her son.

The loving father regularly shares photos of himself and his family, spending time with one another. A picture from six years ago, which he posted on Instagram, showed them having fun during the Christmas holidays.

Kim Hoffman is also proud of the man she married and usually shares pictures of Erin and their daughters on her Instagram page, proving that he is a girl dad. One of her posts from January 27 showed Erin hugging his daughters tightly, with Kim captioning it:

"Every second of every hour of every day has some degree of magic. Holding these 3 close and tight. #girldad."

On Father's Day, Kim paid tribute to her husband by sharing a picture of the family at a beach and wishing Erin and all the fathers in the world a happy celebration.

Erin also paid tribute to his late dad by posting an old picture of Miles Davis and wishing him a Happy Father's Day. Back in 2017, in a post to celebrate his dad on Father's Day, Erin also shared a picture of the late singer, writing, "Happy Father's Day Chief, we miss you!"

Being Miles Davis's lastborn son, the 50-year-old Erin has so many memories of himself and his father, even though he grew up with his mom, Marguerite, who was Miles' girlfriend.

Miles and Marguerite's relationship was not so great, The latter sued the Jazz star for neglecting her and her son, which lead to Miles spending some time in jail.

This prompted the singer to improve his relationship with his son, and Erin once recalled that his father gave him a Fonzie doll from "Happy Days," which he loved so much.
