How 'Glee' Creators Hope to Help Naya Rivera's Son Josey Following Her Tragic Death

“Glee” creators have revealed that they are working on starting a college fund for Naya Rivera’s son while sharing a touching tribute to the late star.

Following the confirmation of Naya Rivera’s death, the creators of “Glee” not only shared a heartfelt tribute but also divulged their plans for her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, 4.

Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy, and Ian Brennan made their intentions known in a statement they made to Us Magazine. After noting that they felt the pain that the Rivera family was going through, the trio added:

“The three of us are currently in the process of creating a college fund for the beautiful son Naya loved most of all.”

In a separate release to ET Online, the “Glee” creators had nothing but glowing words for the actress who was declared dead by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department on July 13. According to Brad, Ryan, and Ian, Naya was “a joy to write for, a joy to direct and a joy to be around.”

For her tribute, Gwyneth Paltrow chose to post a video of her “Glee” character, Holly Holliday, singing “Landslide” alongside Naya and Heather Morris during the show’s second season.

While the “Glee” cast noted that Naya gave several memorable musical performances on the show, they recalled that her most significant "Glee" legacy was most likely, “the humor and humanity that she brought to Santana’s relationship" with her best friend-turned wife Brittany which was played by Heather Morris.

As cited by Hollywood Reporter, the late 33-year-old followed her appearance on the famous musical dramedy with recurring roles on other shows such as “Devious Maids” and “Step Up.”

Soon after the tragic news of her passing broke, Naya’s “Glee” co-stars and other well-known Hollywood celebrities took to social media to mourn the loss.

Us Magazine pointed out that Chord Overstreet used a picture of Naya to recall the day they first met on set. The actor and musician, who played the role of Sam Evans on “Glee,” also praised the late actress for "her massive heart" which helped them through the show when they wanted to give up.

For her tribute, Gwyneth Paltrow chose to post a video of her “Glee” character, Holly Holliday, singing “Landslide” alongside Naya and Heather Morris during the show’s second season. Other stars who paid tribute to Naya include Harry Shum Jr., Mike O’Malley, Demi Lovato, and Kate Hudson.
