According to Page Six, the actress took to her Instagram page to drop a series of sweet family shots that showed her and her mother having a good time. Through the caption, the 38-year-old Chrishell explained that it was:

“Absolutely heartbreaking watching you take your last labored breath, but there is a peace knowing you two are together again, free from the pain that plagued your time here.”

The news of her mother's death comes in the middle of Chrishell’s divorce from her husband of two years, Justin Hartley.

Showing her appreciation to the medical team at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center, Chrishell closed the caption by admitting that her mother was a “free spirit and rebel till the very end.”

Chrishell initially opened up about her mother’s battle with lung cancer back in February in recognition of this year’s World Cancer Day. As at the time, the actress shared that her mother had shown a positive response to her first round of chemotherapy.

ET Online noted that the news of her mother's death comes in the middle of Chrishell’s divorce from her husband of two years, Justin Hartley. Justin, who filed for the divorce in November 2019 and dissolution of the union a month later, specified irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation.

In court documents retrieved by the outlet, the former couple partook in a settlement conference that was held on July 13. In the settlement, the “Days of Our Lives” star was given the right to revert her name to Terrina Chrishell Stause. While speaking on the separation, Chrishell claimed that,

“I obviously really, truly love him and it's unfortunate the way that everything happened and the timing of everything.”

Amid the ongoing divorce proceedings, People reported that in April 2019, the actress addressed her late father’s battle with cancer in the caption of a photo she posted on Instagram.

Along with a throwback photo of her and her father, Chrishell said that she was choosing to “remember you the way you were before it took it’s hold on you.” The actress also added that she believed that her late dad, whom she referred to as the “heartbeat of our family,” was at peace.
