Coincidence and speculation seem to have linked Tristan Thompsom and Jordyn Woods again, nearly 18 months after their cheating scandal that rocked social media.

Social media is buzzing after Tristan Thompson and Jordyn Woods debuted new and identical hairstyles on the same day, over a year after they were embroiled in a cheating scandal.

The 21-year-old Woods, once Kylie Jenner's BFF, is now persona non grata with the Kardashian/Jenner clan after she was spotted in a steamy cinch with Thompson, Khloé Kardashian's then-boyfriend and father of her daughter True. But fans wonder if is there more to the matching hairdos than meets the eye...

WHAT'S THE BUZZ

Woods, who usually wears her hair in glamour-girl styles, suddenly opted for traditional cornrows and posted a collage of snaps of herself modeling her new look -- with and without sunglasses. She captioned the post:

"MISS MAMAS !!!!!!! THIS IS WHAT I NEEEEEEEDED."

Woods also posted another snap in which she's riding her horse Esperanza, wearing denim dungarees over a white t-shirt and a black cap, with the aforementioned braids trailing down her back.

SAME HAIR DIFFERENT HEAD

To fans' surprise, they spotted the same hairstyle on the same day on a different head -- Thompson's. And of course, since the two have become connected in people's minds since the 2019 Valentine's Day debacle, people immediately started speculating -- was it a coincidence, or are the two in touch?

NO EVIDENCE, NO CRIME

But it seems as if it really is just one of those odd coincidences that crop up from time to time and one which neither would have expected. The notoriety that clung to the model and to the basketball player after the scans damaged both their reputations and they are only now starting to recover, and Thompson seems to be in a good place with Khloé.

THE SCANDAL

The Kardashian/Jenner clan suffered a rude shock when they discovered that Kylie's best friend had been seen hooking up with Thompson at Drake's Valentine's Day after-party. Thompson's relationship with Khloé came to an abrupt end as did Woods' friendship with Kylie.

Woods, who was practically part of the Kardashian/Jenner family was ostracised and ended up admitting to an "innocent kiss" on Jada Pinkett Smith's "Red Table Talk."

Public opinion came down on the side of Khloé and every misstep on Woods part -- or a mere coincidence such as the cornrows -- now hits the headlines.

Rob Kardashian, Khloé's brother weighed in on Thompson's post and commented, “Jake Shuttlesworth?” a reference to a character in the1998 Spike Lee film "He Got Game."

Meanwhile, Thompson has been quarantined with daughter True and Khloé which has sparked rumors of a reconciliation.
