On his Instagram page, Snoop shared a candid photo of Banks in her wrestling ensemble while flashing a big smile and holding her belt to her chest. In the accompanying caption, the rapper praised his cousin, writing "the champ is here."
It was reported that back in 2008, Snoop took Banks with him to WrestleMania —where he was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for celebrities— and that was how she fell in love with the profession.
CBS Sports reports that Banks became the ultimate winner of the recent edition of WWE Raw after defeating Asuka in an "extreme rules" rematch. Banks won against Asuka in a count-out decision.
While Banks was down and slowly recovering from a blow in the ring, Asuka got out to save her tag teammate, who was under attack. At that moment, she was counted out, leaving Banks as the titleholder for Raw Women's Champion.
FR24 News reports that for some time now, WWE champion Bayley has been involved in helping Banks win her matches and the match against Asuka was no exception.
The duo formed a formidable force as they co-host WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. While Bayley is the champion for SmackDown Women's Championship, Sasha Banks has measured up with Raw's Women's Title.
It is no surprise that Snoop was elated about Banks' big win as Nicki Swift notes that the "Gangsta Luv" crooner helped shape Banks' talent and interest in WWE.
It was reported that back in 2008, Snoop took Banks with him to WrestleMania —where he was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for celebrities— and that was how she fell in love with the profession. In his words:
"She was just a young little teenager, and I took her around to meet everybody that she wanted to meet, and you could just see her face lit up. You could tell this is where she belonged"
While Banks is into combat sports, Snoop has other cousins who are stars in their own rights in the music industry. Brandy Norwood and her brother, Ray J are also Snoop's cousins and are well-decorated R&B stars.
