In October 2019, Cyrus was said to be dating Australian musician Simpson, 23, after they were seen on a breakfast date. The couple often posted videos with each other on TikTok, some with Cyrus, 27, wearing a bikini, and dancing by the pool.

However, all that is done and dusted, according to a music source. The insider revealed to “Page Six” that the couple had gone their separate ways.

CYRUS’ CRYPTIC MESSAGE

This week while promoting her latest single, “Midnight Sky,” on Instagram, Cyrus appeared to hint at the breakup. The star self-directed the video for her new song.

She captioned the post writing: “Forever and ever no more.” The pop musician cryptically added: “The #MidnightSky is the road I’m taking … head up high in the clouds.”

MILEY’S MARRIAGE TO LIAM

Cyrus’ relationship with Simpson started late last year after her brief fling with Kaitlynn Carter. The vocalist began dating Carter soon after she and Hemsworth separated.

"The Hunger Games” actor and the singer were only married for eight months before they called it quits. Their divorce was finalized in January 2020.

STAYING SOBER

In July 2020, a source spoke to “People” magazine about how Simpson was a positive force in Cyrus’ life. The "Malibu" singer had recently revealed how she was six months sober.

The insider, who is close to the pop star, shared how Simpson had been very supportive of his girlfriend’s journey. The source added: "She is very happy to be dating Cody.”

A “GREAT COUPLE”

The informant also revealed how Simpson was “into clean, healthy living” and also supported “her sobriety." The insider shared how the pair was "a great couple."

In an April 2020 interview with “The Sydney Morning Herald,” Simpson showed how much he loved being with the pop star. He shared how "being with Miley is a wonderful thing in my life."

In a previous interview with “Fuse,” the Australian singer confessed that Cyrus had always been his “childhood celebrity crush.” Earlier this month ahead of the news of their split, he posted a loving photo of himself with his girlfriend and captioned it, “in love with my best friend.”
