Dorinda Medley Leaves the 'Real Housewives of New York' after 6 Seasons on the Show

Dorinda Medley recently took to Instagram to announce her exit from "The Real Housewives of New York." This came only a few days after the death of her friend, Jon Giswold.

Reality star Dorinda Medley is leaving "Real Housewives of New York," after appearing on the show for six seasons. Medley announced her exit from the "Bravo" series in an Instagram post, where she shared a picture of herself alongside a touching note.

In her caption, Medley described her journey on the series as bittersweet while adding that she did her best to make the most of it.

With the understanding that everything has an end, the TV star noted that the show was a great outlet for her to heal after the death of her husband, Richard.

Medley added that "Real Housewives of New York" connected her with some fantastic people. She also explained that she learned more about herself and others during the show. The reality star further expressed gratitude to "Bravo" and NBC for giving her a chance to be on the show.

Medley also gave a shout out to her other cast members for continually providing her with support and entertainment. She concluded by sending her best wishes to them.

Medley's cast members were once seen staging an intervention over her alleged drinking problem.

Shortly after sharing the post, fans and followers took to the comments section where they shared their thoughts. Some of Medley's famous friends, including Andy Cohen, Bethenny Frankel, and Ramona Singer, also left comments under the post.

Medley was fired by "Bravo" on Tuesday. This was only two days after the death of her friend, Jon Giswold. While speaking to DailyMail, a production source described her exit as a big mistake.

He added that many members of the crew were surprised that the network fired her. According to the source, Medley was a fan favorite on the show, and many people were rooting for her.

The star joined "Real Housewives Of New York" in its seventh season, and over time, she won the hearts of many with her sassy catchphrases and her emotional journey, right through the current Season 12.

She popularized lines such as "Clip, clip, clip" and, "I cooked, I decorated, I made it nice," among others. During season 12, Medley's cast members were once seen staging an intervention over her alleged drinking problem.

Their intervention, however, took a turn when Medley denied having a problem and eventually walked away in annoyance.

While it is unsure what the show has in store for its thirteenth season, one thing is sure, Dorinda Medley will be greatly missed.
