OSAKA'S NEW HOME
Osaka acquired Nick Jonas's spectacular mansion towards the end of 2019 with the plans of making Los Angeles her permanent home. The 4,129-square-foot minimalist mansion is located in LA's Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood.
The masterpiece was built in 1965 and was later renovated in 2015 by Jonas. The not-so-humble abode sits on a ridge overlooking the surrounding land and boasts of five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.
There's also an extended wooden terrace, an infinity pool complete with a spa, a two-car garage, and a two-story floating guesthouse outfitted with a separate private gym.
JONAS' PURCHASE
Jonas reportedly bought the mansion in 2018, confidentially. Although many wanted to know the identity of the owner, records showed that a blind trust acquired the home. It wasn't until later that news about Jonas' purchase surfaced.
Previously, in 2012, nightclub proprietor Jason Lev bought the home for around $1.8 million and renovated the house to have touches of modern minimalist designs.
What came out was a glass-filled interior home with a mid-century-modern vibe. It wasn't until 2016 that the club owner sold the residence for $7.6 million, but Jonas was able to snag it for only $6.5 million.
THE GORGEOUS ESTATE
However, he put it up for sale following his marriage to famous Indian actress Priyanka Chopra. He officially sold it in the summer of 2019 to a then-unknown buyer who turned out to be Osaka.
The talented sportswoman is currently in a relationship with rapper YBN Cordae.
During the sale, the home looked ravishing with oak hardwood floors, a large living area around an imposing hematite fireplace, and a dining room. The house also has a library/family room with a built-in bookcase and flatscreen.
TENNIS SUPERSTAR
Osaka made more waves in the sports world when she won her second US Open and third Grand Slam. Each time she appeared for a game during the Open, she had on a mask printed with the name of a Black victim of alleged police/racist violence in the United States.
One day after her win at the US Open, Osaka took to Twitter to thank her ancestors. She claimed the title by beating Victoria Azarenka in three sets.
Her hard work has paid off and made history as the highest-paid female athlete to date. In 2020 alone, Osaka made nearly $38.0 million from endorsements and prize money.
Osaka's rank placed her as 12th on Forbes' list of the world's 50 highest-paid athletes, ahead of other tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
More is in store for the athlete who took the 2021 Australian Open title and signed several big endorsement deals, adding to her list of partners such as Workday, Airbnb, and Louis Vuitton.
The talented sportswoman is currently in a relationship with rapper YBN Cordae. In July, she took to Instagram to share a shot of herself and Cordae standing close to the famous Hollywood sign in LA, looking all loved up.
Cordae was in attendance at New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium as Osaka won her second US Open title on Saturday. He was caught on TV cameras showing support for his girlfriend and was quick to remind everyone she now has three Grand Slam titles after the win.
Fans hope their love story is one that ends happily ever after, and if their posts online are any indication, they are here to stay.
