Kelly Clarkson Reveals John Legend's Album 'Bigger Love' Is Her Breakup Soundtrack Amid Divorce
Kelly Clarkson is not listening to "Because of You" or "Don't Waste Your Time" to cope with her split from Brandon Blackstock. Instead of her own songs, the singer has opted for John Legend's album "Bigger Love" as her breakup soundtrack.
On the Season 2 premiere of her show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," renowned singer Kelly Clarkson revealed to her guest, John Legend, that she has been listening to his latest album, "Bigger Love," as she processes her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.
"This is a testament of how good this album is," the 38-year-old explained. Among Clarkson's favorites from the album are "Conversations in the Dark," "Favorite Place," and "Wild."

Clarkson pointed out that she may no longer need to listen to Joni Mitchell and Alanis Morissette's albums because Legend's "Bigger Love" is a great album for her.
Legend, 41, profusely thanked Clarkson for her kind words about his seventh studio album, which he released in June. He noted that compliments on his work never "get old."
Clarkson does not seem to harbor a grudge against Blackstock, who is also her manager.
"For another artist to actually care about your music and actually listen to it and love it and really pay attention, it really does mean a lot," said Legend, who received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007.
Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June. The award-winning singer cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her decision to end their seven-year marriage.
The former couple met backstage in 2006 at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards. They became engaged in 2012 and tied the knot a year later.
Clarkson and Blackstock have two children together — daughter River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4. The artist has been very candid about her split from Blackstock.
Clarkson believes that being busy amid her divorce has been a blessing, a source told PEOPLE in July. Aside from "The Kelly Clarkson Show," the singer is also preparing for the new season of "The Voice" and her forthcoming album.
During her recent appearance on the "Today" show, Clarkson also said that although 2020 has been a difficult year for many people, she still considers herself lucky because of her music.
Clarkson does not seem to harbor a grudge against Blackstock, who is also her manager. In fact, she only had kind words to say about him following her Daytime Emmy Award win in June.

Clarkson won the award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host and during her acceptance speech, she did not forget to express her gratitude for her estranged husband. She thanked him for helping encourage her to launch her own talk show a year ago.
Meanwhile, in 2019, Clarkson had an interview with Forbes, where she opened up about her relationship with her estranged father, Stephen Michael Clarkson. She said that the lyrics to her song "Piece by Piece" were about her shaky relationship with her father, who already passed away.
