Da Brat Gets Candid about Bisexuality & Her Relationship with Jesseca Dupart

Rapper Da Brat has opened up about her bisexuality in an interview with Kandi Burruss on the "Speak On It" show. She candidly shared about her past relationships and her new girlfriend Jesseca Dupart.

In a recorded interview uploaded on YouTube on September 21, Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, opened up to Kandi Burruss about her bisexuality and her plans for her relationship with her current girlfriend.

Da Brat first revealed that she was a tomboy growing up. When she was young, the 46-year-old rapper said she was never attracted to women.

But that changed when she met a woman from Columbia. Da Brat was completely smitten. From being acquaintances, their relationship became much deeper.

Da Brat’s relationship with the woman was something new to her. Before they became a couple, when she was still a teenager, she only had relationships with men.

“The Player’s Club” star LisaRaye McCoy was the woman behind the couple’s meeting.

But Da Brat’s relationship with the woman did not last long. Her attraction to women continued even while she was in a relationship with Allen Iverson, one of the most popular NBA stars.

Despite her bisexuality, Da Brat and Iverson were head over heels with each other. But their relationship ended reportedly because of the basketball star’s reputation with women.

Before Iverson, Da Brat admitted that she once dated “Love & Hip Hop” star Kirk Frost for a short while. Moving forward, the “Dish Nation” star became private about her love life and sexuality.

However, reports earlier this year revealed that Da Brat was dating another woman, beauty mogul Jesseca Dupart. She later confirmed they are a couple.

During her recent interview with Burruss, Da Brat shared her plans and expressed her intention to marry her girlfriend. She said:

"I kind of want to but I never thought about marrying a woman but we’ve talked about it. I would love to marry her. I don’t think anybody would oppose."

"The Player’s Club” star LisaRaye McCoy who is also Da Brat's step-sister, was the woman behind the couple’s first meeting. McCoy shared that she knew Dupart as they have collaborated on videos for her beauty products.

When Dupart reached out to Da Brat to try her new products, both quickly hit it off. McCoy said she felt proud she served as the couple’s bridge and that she is happy Da Brat seems to have found her true love.

Meanwhile, McCoy recently admitted that she was romantically involved with a man she suspected of being bisexual. Her revelation came as a surprise to her friends, The Queens, who were familiar with her ex-boyfriend.

McCoy said their close acquaintances would question how they became a couple. Despite the rumors, the "Single Ladies" star said the man she was in a relationship with has yet to open up about his real sexuality.
