Watch Da Brat's Emotional Birthday Surprise for LisaRaye after They Hadn't Spoken in Months

Rapper Da Brat wished her sister LisaRaye McCoy a happy birthday during her surprise appearance in "Cocktails with Queens" on FoxSoul and it was an emotional moment for the birthday girl because apparently, they have been distant for several months.

LisaRaye McCoy celebrated her 53rd birthday on September 23. On the same day, she appeared on the FoxSoul streaming show "Cocktails with Queens" and she was not prepared for the surprise she got.

That day, her sister Da Brat made a surprise appearance on the talk show which McCoy co-hosts with Syleena Johnson, Claudia Jordan, and Vivica A. Fox. She was shocked, to say the least.

LISA GOT PRETTY EMOTIONAL

The ladies paid a heartwarming tribute to McCoy who fought back tears while her co-hosts danced and sang the birthday song to her. Da Brat organized the whole thing and sang for her sister.

McCoy could not hold back her tears for long. She started to cry and the hosts asked her to cheer up and smile a bit. She finally found her voice and said that she was shocked by the gesture.

When her co-host asked her how she was feeling, McCoy was speechless as she tried hard not to break down in tears again. Then the crew readjusted their focus to ask Da Brat how she was feeling.

McCoy then slammed her sister for not keeping in touch for months.

WHY THEY HAD GOTTEN A LITTLE DISTANT

The rapper went on to say that she did expect some disappointment from McCoy because they had a little space in their relationship and had not been in touch for several months. Addressing her sister, she said:

"You know how much I love you. You know how much you mean to me. You know since I was a child you've always been there. You always gave me good advice."

Da Brat continued to reminisce about all the precious memories they made when they were younger. She then revealed the reason why she needed a little space from her sister and said she was a little scared to talk to her about her relationship. In her response, McCoy said:

"I will say this, I am happy for you. I am glad that you are living in your truth. For you to be so happy and so vibrant, that is a blessing."

McCoy then slammed her sister for not keeping in touch for months. As things started to get heated, the co-hosts tried to lighten up the mood, only to upset her even more. Judging by the expressions on their faces, nobody thought the surprise would take a left turn.

Da Brat did not tell her sister about her relationship with Jessica Dupart which is also why she was so upset and hurt. She was the one who played cupid for the rapper and Dupart.
