Valerie Bertinelli has had to be brave and console her only son with the late Eddie Van Halen, Wolfgang, who is having a hard time dealing with his father’s tragic death.
Following the tragic death of music icon and legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen, life has been a bit darker for the dearest person he left behind, his only son Wolfgang Van Halen.
Luckily, Wolfie, as he is fondly called, won’t have to deal with the hurt and despair alone as his mother and Eddie’s ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli, is there to help him through it all.

VALERIE CONSOLS HER SON
An insider close to the family has revealed that Valerie has been there for her only son amid his heartbreak. The source who spoke to Closer Weekly noted that the actress is allowing her son to go through the process of mourning. The insider said:
“[She’s] letting him feel his feelings … his despair. She knows that he and his ‘Pop’ were inseparable.”
Although the “One Day At A Time” star and the music icon split years before his cancer battle began, she never tampered with the tight bond her son and ex-husband shared. And now that Eddie’s death has severed the companionship, she had had to put aside her grief and be strong for her boy.
In August, the doting mother recalled what it felt like to reunite with her son after three months of not seeing each other during the pandemic.

She praised her husband’s resilience during his cancer battle and expressed her gratitude for getting to chance to be by his side when he took his last breath. She concluded, promising to see Eddie in her next life.
VALERIE REUNITED WITH WOLFGANG
In August, the doting mother recalled what it felt like to reunite with her son after three months of not seeing each other during the pandemic. She explained that during the quarantine, they regularly Facetimed.
However, the joy of talking to him on the phone was nothing compared to when she finally got the chance to hold him. She confessed that the hug lasted a bit longer than usual and admitted that she adores her son. Valerie also noted that Wolfgang came visiting with his girlfriend, Andrea, and they all watched movies and ate dinner together.
WOLFGANG HONORS HIS DAD
On Wednesday, Wolfgang, who followed in his father’s steps and is a bassist player for the band, shared a touching throwback photo of him and Eddie, doing what they loved the most.
In the sweet image, the 29-year-old was seen playing the guitar alongside his father, who lovingly caressed his head. The post came with no caption as Wolfgang was lost for words, but many fans, including his uncle, Patrick Bertinelli, consoled him in the comments section.
