Eddie Van Halen's Son Wolf Remembers Late Father 1 Day after He Passed with a Throwback Photo

Eddie Van Halen, from the Van Halen band, sadly passed away on Tuesday after battling with throat cancer for several years. His only child mourned him a few days later with a post on social media.

Eddie Van Halen died this week at the age of 65. His only child and son, Wolfgang Van Halen, 29, was the one who announced and confirmed his death via social media account.

A day after his father’s death, Wolfgang paid tribute to his father by uploading a sweet throwback photo. In the black-and-white image, the rock star’s son was seen having a special moment with his father.

PLAYING GUITAR WITH DAD

Wolfgang was photographed while seemingly getting bass guitar lessons from his father. The pair were laughing in the image and Eddie had his hand on his son’s head.

Wolfgang actually began appearing with the rock band in 2004 when he was just 13-years-old.

According to a “People” magazine source, the late singer’s son isn’t handling his death very well. The insider claimed Wolfgang was struggling because he was very close to his father.

WOLFGANG’S ROLE IN THE BAND

The legendary guitar player’s son is actually the bass player for his father’s band he started working with them from 2006. The source also revealed:

"It's a huge loss to his son in particular because they were so tight."

VALERIE HONORS EDDIE

Wolfgang’s mother, Valerie Bertinelli, 60, also honored her late husband in a post on Instagram. Sharing a black-and-white throwback photo of herself, Eddie, and Wolgang, she mourned the star writing:

"40 years ago my life changed forever when I met you."

MOURNING EDDIE

Bertinelli also thanked her ex-husband for their son in her post. She noted how the late musician had kept his spirit and grin through his challenging lung cancer treatments.

The actress shared her gratitude for being able to be there when Eddie passed and promised to see him in the next life. The star’s wife, Janie Liszewski, his son, and ex-wife were with him at the hospital when he passed on.

UNCLE IS PART OF BAND

Wolfgang is a member of Van Halen alongside his father’s brother and his uncle, Alex Van Halen. He actually began appearing with the rock band in 2004 when he was just 13-years-old.

His mother got married to Eddie when she was just 20 years old. The two stayed together until 2001 and named their son after the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
