Olivia Newton-John Remembers Kelly Preston after the 'Jerry Maguire' Star Died of Breast Cancer
British-Australian singer Oliver Newton-John shared fond memories of the late actress Kelly Preston who died after a long and private battle with cancer.
The 57-year-old actress Kelly Preston privately fought metastatic stage IV breast cancer for two years, before passing away on the 12th of July 2020. Her quiet strength was openly acknowledged by her family friend Oliver Newton-John.
Opening up in discussion with "ET's" Rachel Smith, the four-time Grammy Award winner disclosed late Preston's private battle with breast cancer and how her family is handling her loss.

Reflecting on what she missed most about the late "Jerry Maguire" star, Newton-John disclosed that she was a beautiful, talented soul with a gentle soul and how hard it is to come to terms with her demise.
[Olivia Newton-John] said she has been extra vigilant amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and warry of how it affected those with underlying conditions.
The songwriter also admitted that while she doesn't speak to her close friend, and husband of the deceased, John Travolta, frequently, they do keep in contact, and she sends her love and support as often as she can.
Fighting a battle of her own with stage 4 breast cancer, Newton-John has been very open about her journey, and she is now determined and dedicated to helping others, with a similar fate.
The 72-year-old icon also recently revealed the formation of the Olivia Newton-John foundation with a vision of riding the world of cancer. commenting on the new organization, she said:
"I'm so excited. This has been something that's been in my heart and my mind for many years".
She shared the goal of the organization by focusing on finding new and gentler avenues on the treatment of cancer. The entrepreneur who isolated in the countryside amid the novel coronavirus pandemic expressed how grateful she was despite her stage 4 cancer battle.
Sending out love to people in cities or alone during the pandemic, she confessed that she sometimes feels guilty about how much she enjoys spending time at home with her husband and her animals.
The "Grease" star said she has been extra vigilant amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and warry of how it affected those with underlying conditions and weakened immune system. She also advised women always to trust their instincts when it comes to their bodies.
The breast cancer diagnosis was confirmed in November 2018 in the same weekend her father died, the singer said she felt an overwhelming sense of dread, terror, and the unknown.
Not relenting in the fight, the activist has tried various therapies in her quest to battle cancer, including acupuncture, meditations, and plant medicine. She also spoke on her experience with alternate medicine, disclosing that she has seen plants' incredible healing abilities.
American actor and singer, John Travolta openly confirmed the passing of his wife, Preston on July 12 in a long, and very emotional Instagram post with a caption that read:
"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer."
Mourning the loss of his wife, the actor asked for forgiveness in advance as he and his family chose to mourn the passing of their wife and mother privately. He, however, assured everyone that he would feel their outpouring of love in the difficult time.
