LIFE LONG FRIENDS

The lifelong friends grew up together in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. They were both part of two music groups that dominated the late 80s and early 90s R&B scene.

BBD didn’t forget their roots and reunited with the original members of New Edition. They embarked on a Greatest Hits Tour in 2016.

Bivins, DeVoe, and four other members formed New Edition in 1978, and the group dissolved almost a decade later. Along with other New Edition member, Ricky Bell, they formed the spinoff group, Bell Biv DeVoe.

30 YEARS OF MUSIC HISTORY

Bell Biv Devoe (also known as BBD) released four studio albums between 1990 and 2017. They are, however, best known for their 1990 debut album "Poison," which topped the charts and went Platinum.

The titular song, “Poison”, became their signature hit and helped create a new sound for the R&B genre. The trailblazing song turned 30 in February and still has fans bopping to it.
