A TEXAS BELLE
Born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete in Bexar County, Texas, Megan spent her childhood life in Houston's South Park area. According to her, being from Texas was part of her motivation for wanting to be a rapper. She noted that female rappers from Texas did not really have much representation.
GOT IT FROM HER MAMA
Back in the day, Megan's mom, Holly Thomas, under the stage name, Holly-Wood, was part of the rap world. As a child, Megan would accompany the music star instead of staying with a Nanny, then music gradually grew on her.

Thomas battled a brain tumor while managing her daughter's career. Unfortunately, she passed on in 2019. Once speaking about her mom, the emotional rapper noted that Holly-Wood was the only one that could make her laugh so much.
