A STRONG FIGURE
In the picture, Bassett stood holding a gun with a straight face on. Fellow actresses Michelle Yeoh and Carla Gugino stood on the side dressed in green and pink ensembles.
The 62-year-old actress looked chic in her teal suit and vest with a light blue collared shirt underneath. She paired her sleek top with dark blue pants. Bassett’s stance looked confident and powerful.
Following Bassett’s teaser picture, many fans were thrilled that the actress is part of another women-centered movie. One female fan wrote that her movie, along with the two other notable actresses, has intrigued her.
Delighted fans left clapping hands and shocked emojis in the comments section. One fan expressed that the movie has the "best casting ever."
Bassett earlier shared a potential plot for the next sequel of "Black Panther" involving one of its characters, Shuri, the sister of King T’Challa.
AN ACTION-PACKED FILM
Directed by Navot Pupashado, the action-thriller film tells the story of three generations of female assassins who fight to stop a cycle of violence overnight. Bassett will play an assassin together with Yeoh and Gugino.
Amid the difficult times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bassett has been blessed with wonderful opportunities. Aside from this movie, she will show off her superb performance once again, this time in the new "Mission: Impossible" film with Tom Cruise.
A POTENTIAL PLOT?
Before she moved on to her current movie projects, Bassett earlier shared a potential plot for the next sequel of "Black Panther" involving one of its characters, Shuri, the sister of King T’Challa.
Actress Letitia Wright plays Shuri, the intelligent sister of the Wakanda leader, played by the late actor Chadwick Boseman. The actor died in August due to colon cancer.
Bassett added that Boseman’s groundbreaking role is irreplaceable as the latter was special. If there are changes to the script, Bassett said she would still absolutely support it.
Boseman’s death shocked everyone as he kept his serious condition under wraps while filming several movies. Many fans, including the actor’s colleagues in Hollywood, were heartbroken.
Aside from former US president Barack Obama, veteran actor and "42" star Harrison Ford paid tribute to the late actor. Ford described Boseman as a “compelling and powerful actor.”
