Nikki Bella Reveals Ex-fiancé John Cena's Reaction to Her Childbirth

John Cena and Brie Bella were once set to walk down the aisle together. Sadly, it wasn’t to be, and they broke things off. However, Bella confirmed that her ex-fiancé reached out to her after she gave birth.

Former pro wrestler and TV personality Brie Bella spoke to Us Weekly, confirming that her ex-fiancé, John Cena, congratulated her after giving birth. In the interview, Bella spoke extensively about her relationship with Cena, explaining that the two remained close friends despite their breakup.

Bella has since moved on, as she is now engaged to professional dancer Artem Chigvinstev. The couple had their first child, Matteo, back in August. For a while, many have wondered whether Cena reached out to Bella following the birth of her son.

She confirmed to Us Weekly that he did, saying: “So with the baby, he reached out to Brie and I both. We haven’t had an individual conversation in gosh, I don’t know how long, but it was very short and sweet!”

Nikki’s sister, Brie, also recently had a son with her husband, pro wrestler Daniel Bryan. Brie’s son, named Buddy, was born just one day after her sister.

It is great to see how Nikki and Cena have remained close despite calling their relationship off. Considering how long they were together, any enmity would have been pretty bitter.

It was later revealed that the pair had developed differences over children.

Nikki and Cena had known each other for a long time, with the two being stars on WWE. However, they did not go on their first date until 2012. By 2013, the pair had become too close and were looking toward the future.

Nikki met Cena’s parents, and the two even decided to move in together. Despite several rough patches, the couple always seemed to work things out and resolve differences.

Eventually, Cena proposed to Nikki in 2017 at Wrestlemania 33. Sadly, it was all not to be. They called off their engagement in April 2018, with the pair explaining that they still cared for each other.

It was later revealed that the pair had developed differences over children. Nikki wanted to settle down and start a family, but Cena had long said he had no desire to have any kids.

It was a pretty intense breakup that left many WWE fans heartbroken. However, the pair has since moved on. Nikki Bella and Chigvinstev started dating after meeting on “Dancing With the Stars,” and they got engaged this January.

As for Cena, he has also moved on pretty well. He married Shay Shariatzadeh, his girlfriend of 18 months, in a secret ceremony in October.
