The news was met with excitement from fans and followers of Moranis, who quickly took to the comments section to thank the police department for their efforts in arresting the assailant.

The suspect has been identified as a 35-year-old ex-convict that goes by the name Marquis Ventura. The arrest was reportedly made by a Transit Bureau officer at 96th Street and Broadway.

67-year-old Moranis was attacked in his Upper West Side apartment On October 1 after returning from his morning walk. Ventura was believed to have knocked the actor to the ground.

Following the attack, Moranis took himself to a hospital where it was discovered that he sustained some injuries. After Moranis reported the incident, a surveillance image of Ventura wearing an "I Love New York" hoodie, and a face mask was released publicly to aid his arrest.

Moranis left Hollywood over two decades ago to focus on raising his two kids as a single parent.

Speaking about the arrest, sources reportedly revealed that Ventura has a history of more than a dozen arrests, including five felony related arrests.

After the attack, members of the Community Affairs Rapid Response Team Department were said to have visited Moranis at home to provide support and offer assistance.

The team reportedly revealed that while visiting, Moranis stated that all he wanted was for the assailant to be arrested so everything could go away.

This comes as no surprise as Moranis left Hollywood over two decades ago to focus on raising his two kids as a single parent. However, in September, the actor made headlines for appearing in a commercial for Mint Mobile alongside fellow Canadian native actor Ryan Reynolds.

In addition to the commercial, Moranis is also expected to appear in an upcoming Disney movie "Shrunk," and without a doubt, fans can not wait to see the legendary actor back on their screen.
