Sally Field is an actress who has been in the entertainment business from the 60s to date. The actress has achieved several accolades over the years and has earned a place as one of the world's icons.

With over a decade of experience, the 74-year-old has won the hearts of millions and the respect of those in the industry. However, the star didn't have it all as her love-life hasn't been as easy.

BURT REYNOLDS

One of Field's most controversial relationships was with the late actor, Burt Reynolds. Details about their relationship were revealed in the actress's memoir, "In Pieces." There, she confessed that her romance with the actor was "controlling and distant."

Before her relationship with Reynolds, Field's was married to Steven Craig. Their relationship lasted for seven years and they were blessed with two sons, Peter and Eli.

The pair met on the set of "Smokey And The Bandit" and according to Field, Reynolds' fame had become a tool to "control everyone around him" and for reasons unknown to her, the actress stayed in the relationship.

SALLY FIELD

Field was born on November 6, 1946 to a former US army captain, Richard Dryden Field, and the actress, Margaret Field. Her parents divorced in 1950 and her mother got married to Jock Mahoney.

In 1956, Field's acting career began with the series "Gidget," which got canceled after one season. Then in 1967, she starred in three seasons of "The Flying Nun" and her first movie, "The Way West." Over the years, she became a Hollywood sensation and was featured in several movies.

MARRIAGES

Before her relationship with Reynolds, Field's was married to Steven Craig. Their relationship lasted for seven years and they were blessed with two sons, Peter and Eli.

Two years after her divorce, the "Mrs. Doubtfire" actress dated Reynolds until 1982. Then she said her vows to Alan Greisman in 1984 and they were blessed with a son, Sam before they split in 1994.

OTHER RELATIONSHIPS

The 74-year-old has been linked to several male celebrities. She dated the late actor, Pete Duel while they co-starred on "Gidget" then she dated the late singer, Davy Jones for a while in 1968.

She also went on several dates with Kevin Kline and Johnny Carson in 1982, but those relationships were nothing serious as Field revealed in 1984 that she was ready to settle down.

HER CHILDREN

Field is the proud mother of three boys. Her eldest son, Peter Craig is a screenplay writer who has written scripts for hit movies including "The Hunger Games" franchise and "Bad Boys For Life." He's also the proud father of three kids.

Her second son, Eli Craig works as an actor, director, and writer. He has been credited for his role in movies such as "Zombieland." While the youngest son, Samuel Greisman is a Hollywood director.

In 2012, he had the honor of presenting his mother with the Ally for Equality Award at the Human Rights Campaign Gala and expressed his gratitude to the icon for accepting him when he came out as gay.
