Sofia Vergara had an emotional and memorable evening at the 2020 E! People's Choice Awards, raking in her final award for her role in "Modern Family," which ended nine months ago.
Sofia Vergara became a staple on television due to her role as Gloria on "Modern Family." The popular comedy series lasted eleven seasons, a life-changing time in the actress's life.
Taking to the stage during the 2020 E! People's Choice Awards, Vergara gave a memorable acceptance speech, as she received well-deserved recognition for her role in the success the comedy series achieved.

VERGARA'S ACCEPTANCE SPEECH
Earning the award for Comedy TV Star of 2020, Vergara described feeling "super happy" at the acknowledgment of her portrayal of the chatty Columbian wife to her on-screen husband, Jay Pritchett, played by Ed O'Neill.
"This was my last award that I'm ever gonna get because Modern Family ended nine months ago, so it was very emotional for me when they told me that I was nominated for this award," Vergara gushed.
A SPECIAL SHOUTOUT
Even though Vergara felt overwhelmed with gratitude, she made special mention of the cast and crew, dedicating the award to everyone who worked on "Modern Family" during its long run on ABC.
When social distancing regulations eased, the pair celebrated being able to catch up by having a mini party.
As the 48-year-old actress wrapped up her speech, she also gave a special shoutout to Pritchett while emphasizing how much she loved being a part of the popular comedy series.
"I want to thank you for making me a part of this fantastic show," Vergara added. "I really, really miss it. I love it. I had the best time in my life, and I appreciated every single moment I was there. I miss you, Ed O'Neill!"
A REAL-LIFE FRIENDSHIP?
Fans of the show saw a special relationship develop between Vergara's character and that of the suburban mother, Claire Pritchett, played by Julie Bowen. However, the bond carried over into real life as well.
Even though the novel coronavirus put a temporary halt on in-person get-togethers during the year, they kept in touch virtually. When social distancing regulations eased, the pair celebrated being able to catch up by having a mini party with their fellow former cast-mates Jesse Tyler and Sarah Hyland.
A SURPRISE FROM O'NEILL
Sofia Vergara can now be seen on television as a judge on "America's Got Talent," and in August, she got a surprise from Ed O'Neill when they held a virtual Q&A session with the show's fans.
During the show's quarterfinals, they held an "America's Got Question" session, and O'Neill surprised his former onscreen wife with a mini video call reunion.
Pleasantly surprised, Vergara called O'Neill the "best" onscreen husband before she blew him kisses and told him how much she missed him after they shared some memorable moments on the show with viewers.
