One fan implored Long to get her mobile number to Massai, and she was not the only one with such a request. Massai and his mom share a solid bond and have been known to spend a lot of time together because of her hands-on parenting approach.

She raised the boy mostly single even though his father, actor Massai Z. Dorsey, was also partially involved in raising him. The boy has a healthy amount of respect for her, which only grew after being featured in a movie together.

The movie, titled "Single Mom's Club," saw her take the lead role at Tyler Perry's behest even though she had already been involved in another project.

When the topic of who will take on her child's role in the movie came up, the quick-thinking actress promptly suggested Massai because, at the time, he was the same age as the character, and she believed he could pull it off.

He went for the audition at her insistence and was picked. His experience gave him more appreciation for his mother's line of business.

Aside from Massai, Long is also a mother to Kez Sunday Udoka, a boy she shares with NBA star Ime Udoka. She welcomed him in November 2011, and in 2012, the doting mother confessed that his birth gave her a rebirth by giving her the opportunity to see the world through his eyes.
