Paul held his mother's hands in the second snapshot as she led him out of the hospital, with their backs turned against the camera. The third photo showed Paul posing with his dad, mom, and two doctors.
In the snapshot, the 13-year-old wore a hospital robe and revealed his chest, showing some EKG lead wires connected to it. In the post's caption, Bret wrote:
"Thanks to the amazing doctors & nurses at @childrensnational Paul is heading HOME to continue recovery from his 4th open heart surgery!"
Bret further said his family is exceedingly grateful for Paul's care and for everyone praying for and offering him good wishes. Many reactions trailed from fans and celebrities alike.
Chris Pratt hailed Paul as a champion while Fox News's Mike Emmanuel said the news is awesome, adding that many prayers are being answered.

Last Thursday, Bret shared the news that Paul was heading to the hospital for his fourth open-heart surgery at Children's National Hospital and thanked everyone for their prayers and good wishes.
Paul is Bret and Amy's first child and was born with five congenital heart defects and has continued to battle health issues since birth. However, the young champion continues to win every one of his battles.
Bret spoke to People, in May, and he opened up about having to broadcast from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic while being mindful of his two sons, Paul and Daniel, 10, and the family dog, Coco.
He revealed he had to be mindful Coco is not barking during a broadcast. He also said he got to see his family nonstop, which was great, but admitted that juggling work with parental duties is a different ball game.
In January 2019, Bret and his family were involved in a nasty car crash after the jeep he was driving slid through a stop sign on an icy Montana road.
He received lots of love from many friends and fans, including MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who sent several pizza boxes and a thank you note to the Montana Highway Patrol, who responded to Bret's crash.
Bret receives the same love and prayers from his friends and fans as his son recovers from another open-heart surgery, and hopefully, those prayers will be answered.
