The actress' fans rushed to comment on the post, with many of them having nostalgic feelings as they recalled some of their favorite scenes from the series. One fan said they loved watching Doherty and Michael Landon in the series because they always melted hearts with their scenes.
Another fan said Doherty's picture served as a nice and welcome memory, while a third person said the series was their favorite show on television in its heydays.
The fans are right to rave about the show as it was one of the most popular television shows in the 1970s. Since the series ended, its cast members have undergone fairly dramatic transformations.
The actress revealed her cancer returned this year.
Michael Landon, who portrayed Pa Charles Ingalls, died in 1991 after battling pancreatic cancer. Melissa Gilbert portrayed Laura Ingalls and has gone on to star in many series and movies in what has been an impressive career.
Alison Arngrim, who played Nellie Olesen, became a successful voiceover artist with roles in famous animations. She also held major television roles. Other stars from the series have all gone on to enjoy success in their respective careers.
Doherty has also experienced success in her career but has also endured some health issues. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, though she fought the disease then, eventually getting a single mastectomy.
However, the actress revealed her cancer returned this year and that she has stage four breast cancer. She has been open about her cancer battle and has received support from her family, friends, and fans
One of Doherty's co-stars from "90210," Brian Austin, while speaking about her recently, praised her for her fighting spirit and resilience as she continues to battle cancer amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Doherty is indeed a fighter, and her fans will be wishing her all the best as she tries to beat cancer once more.
