'Today' Co-host Dylan Dreyer Shares Photos of Her Son's Baptism That Was Delayed Amid Pandemic
Dylan Dreyer and her husband, Brian Fichera celebrated their son, Oliver's baptism this past weekend. It was an intimate affair with only 10 people, and the priest in attendance, amidst strict Coronavirus restrictions.
The co-host of "3rd Hour Today," show Dylan Dreyer revealed through a series of 8 pictures posted on her Instagram, the baptism of her son, Oliver, born on January 2. They had hoped to baptize him, but couldn't due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Dreyer, her husband, Brian Fichera, sons Oliver and Calvin together with 4 other family members wearing masks, huddled for a group shot while seated on a long bench inside the church. This was just one of 8 photo's Dreyer posted.

A SMALL BAPTISMAL GATHERING
In a different snap, Dreyer is seen wearing red pants paired with a white blouse and a frill collar. She holds Oliver over the baptismal font, dressed in a white two-piece. His dad, Fichera looked on dressed in a grey suit, as she captions:
It was still such a special day for our little guy but I missed all my family that couldn’t be there. God bless you Oliver!"
Dreyer and Fichera had hoped Oliver could have been baptized a lot sooner following his January birth. As a result of Coronavirus, they decided to postpone the event as they could.
CORONAVIRUS CHALLENGES ON FAMILY
Dreyer admits it has been a challenging year for her and Fichera, particularly when it comes to homeschooling the eldest son, Calvin, who turns 4 on December 17. Calvin's entire schooling is being done through Zoom.
Another obstacle Dreyer's family encountered was falling ill during the pandemic, leading Dreyer to believe all four of them had contracted the virus.
Dreyer's biggest task has been keeping Calvin focused, as he gets easily tempted to watch television or play on his iPad. She acknowledges the supportive teachers, who reassured the parents to accomplish what they're able to.
FICHERA'S 34TH BIRTHDAY
For Fichera's 34th birthday on December 2, 39-year-old Dreyer shared a video of the dad spending quality time with his boys. The three are lying on a blanket strewn across the lawn, play wrestling, as Dreyer captioned it:
"Happy birthday to the man I’m proud our kids get to look up to! Welcome to your mid-30s...it’s about time!!"
Dreyer also teased how her husband took it upon himself to compose a birthday tune on the family piano, with Dreyer jokingly acting as though she had forgotten his special day.
CORONAVIRUS INFECTION
Another obstacle Dreyer's family encountered was falling ill during the pandemic, leading Dreyer to believe all four of them had contracted the virus. It began when Dreyer developed mastitis in March, leading to inflammation in the chest.
After she tested negative, Fichera developed his own symptoms and tested positive. Even Oliver developed a mild fever that lasted 3 weeks. None the less, all family members are doing fine now.
KEEPING SPIRITS UP
Health scares and challenging Zoom classes aside, Dreyer is appreciative of the time they've spent together as a family, amidst this year's pandemic.
She said Oliver couldn't a happier baby, who enjoys giggling and laughing. It also helps that he has the best big brother in the world, who according to Dreyer is obsessed with the latest addition to the family.
