'Girls Trip' Star Tiffany Haddish Has Lost 40lbs — Look Back at Her Amazing Weight Loss
“Girls Trip” star Tiffany Haddish has been going through a lot of changes in her life, both in her body and in her heart, having found a new love during the pandemic and undergoing some major weight loss.
The 41-year-old actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish made headlines back in August 2020, when she revealed that she had lost 20 lbs. of weight since she started dating 48-year-old rapper Common in April, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, this month Haddish shared that she had since lost another 20 lbs. for a total of 40 lbs. in nine months, and she is now sharing her weight-loss journey to inspire her fans.

Haddish first opened up both about her relationship with Common and about her major weight-loss during an August episode of Steve-O’s podcast “Steve-O’s Wild Ride,” and she admitted to having found a new confidence that made it possible.
Talking to Steve-O, Haddish acknowledged the importance of feeling cared for and supported, and she said that she had been much happier since Common and she became an item during quarantine, seven years after her divorce.
She went so far as calling her relationship with the rapper the best she has ever been in, and she repeatedly said how much she loves him and how safe she feels around him, but she made clear one thing:
"I feel more confident in me and it’s not him that’s doing it."
SHARING HER STRATEGY
On December 2, 2020, Haddish sat for an interview with People in which she gave an update about the weight she has dropped during the pandemic and shared her strategies to achieve it.
She started by revealing that she made sure to exercise every day and that her workout sessions could last from as little as 15 minutes to as long as two hours, later adding that she has changed her diet significantly.
In a very healthy practice, Haddish has been growing some of her food in her own garden, and she stressed the importance of nutrition to achieve one’s desired weight and body.
Last but not least, Haddish said that she always tried to incorporate dancing in her daily routine, even if just for five or ten minutes, because, apart from being a good way to sweat, it makes it all more fun.
Haddish also cited late track-and-field Olympian athlete Florence Griffith Joyner as the inspiration for her 2020 fitness and health journey. “I had this thought in my mind that I want the body of Flo-Jo!” she told People.
The actress could have been making a reference to this when she wrote in a September 11 Instagram post that she was going to be a track-and-field star, sharing on the same post that she went from size 10-12 to size 4 this year.
