Teen Flips Out on Her Grandmother in Front of the Family

An introverted teenager yelled at her grandmother in front of their family after the older woman constantly harassed and accused her of being depressed.

A 17-year-old girl flipped out on her grandmother in front of the family and asked Reddit users to determine if she was wrong. The girl described herself as an introvert and noted that she enjoys her solitude and would rather not entertain people even though she has friends.

Unlike most of her friends, the 17-year-old does not like partying but manages to keep herself busy with artistic activities like drawing, designing, or painting.

The girl continued her story, revealing that even though her friends accept and support her personality, her grandmother seems to have an issue with it.

The girl noted that even though she has tried explaining several times, her grandmother thinks she likes keeping to herself because she is depressed.

To avoid getting into the depression and therapy conversation, the girl avoids staying at home whenever her grandmother decides to visit their house.

Ahead of the Christmas celebrations, the girl’s parents hosted 12 people, including her grandmother, who showed up with some self-help books, claiming she wants to help her granddaughter get over depression.

She then tried to hand the books to the girl, who immediately walked away and asked her to stop embarrassing her. However, the older woman refused to give up.

While they were having dinner, her grandmother started speaking about how they should all be responsible for the girl who, according to her, was suffering from depression.

The older woman continued by saying they should have more family events so her granddaughter would have some company and stop feeling depressive.

However, this did not sit well with the girl, and she ended up having an outburst, asking her grandmother to leave her alone and get help for herself.

The girl explained that despite her grandmother’s persistence, she had reacted that way. Though her parents believe her outburst was justified, their other family members present at the dinner think the girl should be checked into therapy.

After sharing her story, Reddit users took to the comments section sharing their thoughts and opinion about the girl’s story, with many justifying her outburst. One user wrote,

“Your grandmother definitely overstepped. I probably would have blown up earlier tbh."
