Look Back at Ina Garten & Her Husband Jeffrey's Wonderful 52-Year Marriage
"Barefoot Contessa" host Ina Garten and her husband, Jeffery Garten, have been married for 52 years. And to this day, their relationship is still strong. Let's take a look at their love story.
Ina Garten met Jeffrey Garten decades ago in the early 1960s when she visited her older brother at Dartmouth College, where Jeffrey was also enrolled. Ina then caught Jeffrey's eye.
Ina and Jeffrey started dating shortly after they were introduced. However, the twosome struggled to deal with long-distance relationships at first.

Nevertheless, Ina and Jeffrey maintained their contact through letters and phone calls. They eventually exchanged their wedding vows in 1968. Despite the distance, the couple continued to work.
At the time, Ina was just starting out her career as a college graduate from Syracuse University. Jeffrey, on the other hand, had spent several years in the army.
Fortunately, time apart has strengthened Ina and Jeffrey's relationship as the loved-up couple focused on their careers and each other after Jeffrey's return home.
But Ina and Jeffrey didn't have plans to start a family. She had an appearance on "The Katie Couric Podcast" in 2017, where she talked about their decision not to have children.
Meanwhile, on December 21, Ina shared a wedding photo to celebrate her 52nd wedding anniversary with her husband, Jeffrey. The couple looked young in the picture, which was taken in 1968.
Like everyone else quarantined this year, Ina and Jeffrey's relationship has been affected.
The couple remains in love as they reminisce about their wedding day. In the photo, Ina was 20, and Jeffrey was 22. In an interview in 2018, Ina described the day as perfect for a wedding.
The ceremony was held at her parents' house in Connecticut, and she explained that the scenery included a rock cliff in the woods and that there was a hint of snow that day.
Ina wore a short-sleeved, straight textured dress with white fur cuffs at the ends of the sleeves. It was accessorized with a pearl necklace. Meanwhile, Jeffrey was dressed in a military uniform.
Like everyone else quarantined this year, Ina and Jeffrey's relationship has been affected. But when asked how she and her husband remain infatuated with one another, Ina replied quite simply.
"We just feel connected," Ina told Katie Couric. "I think that if you feel connected with someone, it gives your more freedom. It gives you freedom to do whatever you wanna do with their support."
Meanwhile, Ina told PEOPLE last September that she feels she has been preparing her whole life to be quarantined. She thinks Jeffrey will remember these days fondly, the Food Network star added.
