On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Spotify released an audio recording that featured Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s son, Archie, 1. The recording was done for Spotify’s Archewell Audio podcast.

The show will be presented by the royal couple. This was the very first time that royal fans got to hear the toddler speaking out loud when he made a cameo at the end of the 34-minute recording.

Meghan could be heard prompting the little boy to say the word “fun,” which little Archie repeats. Then the boy’s father could be heard assisting him to say the words “Happy New Year” with his cute little voice.

Harry encourages the little royal to speak into the microphone as he tells him to repeat after him. Giving his 2021 message, Archie repeated the word “Happy” after his father before completing the wish.

When he’s prompted to say “New,” the child shows how clever he is as he quickly completes it by saying “New Year.” This elicits cheers from his royal parents who are clearly proud of their son.

The Sussexes began their very first podcast by asking their celebrity friends to share their reflections on 2020. People heard from Stacey Abrams, Tyler Perry, Elton John, and James Corden.

Royal fans also got to hear from Brené Brown, Rachel Cargle, Christina Adane José Andrés, and Matt Haig. Spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, Naomi Osaka, Hussain Manawer, and George the Poet all took part.

Spotify revealed that the recording was a holiday special from Meghan and Harry. The streaming network shared how the episode was the couple’s way of offering reflection, hope, and conversations that were honest.

The episode was also an effort to look back at the year we were about to leave behind. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed this month that they had made a "multi-year partnership" with Spotify.

The deal was between the streaming giant and the couple’s newly formed production company Archewell Audio. In a two-minute audio recording, Harry and Meghan showed off their podcast skills.

According to a press release, the aim of the podcasts was to help build community through shared narratives, experiences, and values. The couple will not only host but produce the original podcasts.

The Prince and the Duchess actually made their joint podcast debut earlier this year. At the time, the pair were guests on the Teenager Therapy podcast that was hosted by five seniors at an Anaheim, California high school.
